He is my fav character from the entire series cause he depicts that if one wants he can can change no matter what

Looking at the 80s through the 2024 lense is so lame. Steve's a bully? Jonathan is a weirdo and came to Steve's house, albeit by accident, but instead of leaving, he took nudes of Steve's girlfriend. Not creepy or weird at all. Jonathan made CP. Nudes of underage girls is illegal.

American morals are so out of touch today. We are supposed to praise disgusting and immoral behavior. You can't even write about it without censorship.

Fun fact: the actor who played Tommy said he was playing Tommy as being in love with Steve.

I always thought that Steve in the first season was a bit like Bobby from The Karate Kid. Hung out with the bullies, even did a bit himself but shows regret and is good hearted.

btw in Eddie’s book when Tommy and a couple other bullies are bullying them they say something along the lines of “we need to go before Steve shows up” basically confirming he was being sincere when telling Tommy he was going to far and doesn’t even KNOW about them bullying others

I don’t think Steve went far at all tbf when breaking Johns camera hell he even bought him a new one, Jon was literally being a creep and taking lewd photos of Nancy for no reason so he got off pretty lucky all things considered

I remember I also disliked Steve, being the typical rich kid bully, until the very moment this clip describes, when he decides to go back to the house and save Jonathan and Nancy.

He and Robin totally made Season 3 for me, I laughed my way through it. Note that the love between Steve and Robin in fact is totally genuine. It gets more interesting because she is gay, but without a doubt, they love each other on a deeper level than plain physical attraction. They are soulmates.

Jancy is also interesting. Charlie and Natalia are so comfortable with each other when they act, you can really tell that they are a couple IRL. I really hope Jancy will last throughout the series.

Honestly. I never saw him as the bad guy. Because jonathan was the creepy fck taking secret photos he noticed and destroyed the camera as a warning. Sounds like the good guy to me

Steve is one of the best characters in the show hands down. Has a great character growth and arc with others. Could’ve asked for a better character.

Firstly steve never bullied Jonathan....he just broke the camera of one who was taking pictures of his gf during intimate scenes

It would be a tragedy to have Steve end up with Nancy. She cheated on him to start this whole episode off, traveled around probably getting "ran through" by most of the country, only to end up back home as damaged goods, and the audience expects Steve to put her back together. It is Jenny from Forest Gump all over agian. "I refuse to have sex with you. However now 20 years later as I am riddled with Aids, lets have some sex"

Steve, is actually my favorite character. Eddie was really close though, and it really made me sad they killed him off in one season. His Puppet Master scene will forever be the most bad ass scene in the entire series. I highly doubt anything in the final season will top it.

He wasn't a bully 😂 he was just asshole who loved having fun bullies doesn't get beaten up i liked his character since the beginning he was and still a very chill character

not only that, but he also redeems himself for his homophobia against Will & Jonathan in Season 1 when he befriends and accepts Robin's sexuality in Season 3 & 4, in a time where no one else likely would have.

I suspect that Steve may be involved in Will's coming out story arc in season 5 as well, party for his similar relationship with Robin.

Personally, Steve is my favorite character, but I'll hardly take it to heart if people like other characters more. My problem is if they complete dislike or even hate Steve. A person who dislikes Steve is not the type of person I'd want as my friend.

In original script Steve died fightning demogorgon but Duffers has decided to keep him alive (he was originally meant too be swimmer not basketbalist too)

I like to think that Steve’s parents are great people but particularly his dad is very strict and disciplinary, raising him right to be a good man (Teaching him to take accountability for his actions especially with women) but it was Steve’s youthful ignorant side influenced by Tommy, Carol and possibly other toxic friends of his that made him a bully, and blinded him to have the mentality that his dad “is a grade A asshole” as he says about his dad in S1. It was when he got beat by Johnathan that he fully realized he needed to change, by cutting Tommy and Carol out of his life, and apologizing to Johnathan. This is something that could be explored in S5 since he is the only character we hadn’t met the parents and family of yet. Maybe his secret guilt is not listening to his parents for all those years, and is insecurely dreading that Nancy really hasn’t forgiven him for S1, that being something Vecna could possibly use against him.

This is accurate after I rewatched the 1st season of Stranger Things you’ll notice he’s not bad, he only appears like a bully because of his friends(former) and because he kind of force himself a bit on nancy but if Nancy really doesn’t want to I think steve will listen but after rewatching stranger things multiple times. I hope he finds someone better than Nancy. He’s too good for her.
