ОтветитьDoes the Swiss Military / grenadiers / special operations have the tall riser on their aimpoint micros for the STGW-07 for night vision use?
ОтветитьDid you put that rifle in the washing machine?
ОтветитьInvestments usually produces a profit. Get into to NV hole and you will get poor fast. But you will probably have fun while getting poor 😂 Do it!
ОтветитьHere in the US, we have the "Pig Bomb", some idiot years ago bred Domestic Pigs with Siberian Boars and of course they got released into the wild. They estimate population of six million and two million in Texas alone, which do damage to agriculture approaching $1.5 Billion USD a year in costs. Even if we shoot, poison, trap or otherwise kill 66% of the population, in 3 years, they will recover, so it is a losing battle, so far. A sow can throw 2 to 3 liters a year of 5+ piglets each, so we will likely never get rid of them.
When put under any kind of hunting pressure, the Pigs go nocturnal, This is the main driver for the adoption of Thermals and Night Vision equipment in the U.S. Yes the "Call of Duty" crowd wants them, but hunters have the cash, will spend the money and actually have a practical use case for purchasing these items. The only good thing about the "Pig Bomb" is that it has created an entire new hunting industry with no seasons and no limits, heck here in Arizona you don't even need a hunting license to kill Feral Pigs (not Javelinas though) as they are considered pest, like rats or mice. The industry offers helicopter borne day shooting trips and for night shooting they even rent Thermals and Night Vision, if you don't have your own gear.
Infrared lasers and illuminators are available but don't work with thermals, which seems more popular for hunting, as you don't want to shoot the farmers cow my mistake, etc.
The other thing that is a big seller is the Night Vision Cameras, like the Sionyx Aurora Color Night Vison Cameras, that can be weapon mounted that sell for $700 to $1,200 USD vs. $6,000 for a PVS-14, which is out of reach for most people.
I have a PVS-14 and it’s nice for firearm or camping, but I learned that it opens up a whole new world when you attach it to a telescope and use it for amateur astronomy. You can see stars and other celestial objects many times clearer using NV. Highly recommended. You can just use the NV with a magnifier attachment or you can attach it a telescope eyepiece. Thank you.
ОтветитьHi, Is there some way to contact you? Thanks
ОтветитьStill waiting for a next video please
ОтветитьYou made some very important points, I would add a few of my thoughts. One of the largest issue is location and tube availability. Here in Europe it is hard to get quality tubes, there are a lot of dudes who hate on the Photonis offers because of supposed durability shortcomings. The return that you get for your money is much higher if you live in the states. You can pick up DTNVS binos with good tubes for around 8000€ while you easily pay double for a comparable set-up in Europe. Additionally the overall effectiveness of your total system might be lowered by additional factors such as lack of peripheral IR equipment due to regulations like they exist in my country. Depending upon your location in Europe it might be necessary to travel if you want to train with your night vision system because of regulations or lack of appropriate shooting ranges. It should be also mentioned that there are many non-offensive uses for night vision that one should consider like navigation, reconnaissance and driving without emitting white light.
With all that being said, go and buy night vision if you have the money to blow on a toy to have fun with. I personally believe that it is not worth the investment if you are just interested in buying night vision to improve your defensive capabilities. The most probable defensive encounters you would ever find yourself in are solved by white light on your rifle/pistol. Although I have to say that I would have long bought a pair of binos if I were to live in the States.
