ОтветитьI had never heard of him until you mentioned The Love Boat theme. I am Gen X so he was well before my time. He sounds very talented. I’m sorry for your loss.

ОтветитьHis version of the country song “The Race is On” was a #1 hit for him in the 60’s.

ОтветитьYes that’s the only one I remember is the Love boat. Rest in peace Mr Jones
ОтветитьSo sad I loved hearing the love boat theme song he sand may he rest in Pease thanks for sharing Steve
ОтветитьI couldn't find an online obituary for Jack Jones. My guess is that he will be cremated. I'd like to know where his mother (Irene Hervey) is buried.
ОтветитьHe was a great singer, the studio that filmed "The Love Boat" chose a perfect performer to record the theme song. May he rest in peace.🕊🕊 Also recently, we lost a good actor Ron Ely, who also played Tarzan.
ОтветитьSteve I always enjoy watching your great videos. Thank you for your hard work
ОтветитьVery good Steve, too bad he passed in a hospital and not at home. I think there is a difference between being true friends and close "associates". I would think Jack was associated with and met a lot of the entertainers you mentioned but was he a close friend too? I worked for 15 years with 18 other employees in the same building/business. io retired and when my wife passed away 4 years later I heard from a lot of my friends but only one of those 18 I worked with for 15 long years thought to contact me. My point? There are friends and there are long time associates that are not the same as "friends'.
ОтветитьGrew up on Jack and Andy....would come home from school for lunch and mom always had their music playing on the Hi Fi Sylvania console.... remember those big beautiful pieces of furniture...Wow. My condolences to all whom Jack held dear....God rest your Soul Jack....you gave us such good memories.🙏😇💕🥩🍷
ОтветитьI remember him, not just for "The Love Boat" theme, but I like "Wives and Lovers" and "Lollipops and Roses" too!
ОтветитьDon't forget Tony Bennett
ОтветитьMy mom loved Jack Jones I listened to his albums with her and learned what smooth and cool was. RIP Jack you are an Icon ❤
ОтветитьI listen to Jack Jones every day. I start the day on a positive classy note! Only the best! So yeah, just love his music. His passing really signals an end to such a wonderful era filled with timeless classics. Jacks take on the American Song Book is his own. He always found a way to take it to the next level. Always in style! Jacks "My Kind of Town" LP is so good. Nothing else like it. Rest in Peace Jack!
ОтветитьThanks for the news , hadn’t heard , such a shame
ОтветитьI didn’t know he sang the Love Boat Theme. I loved wives and lovers.😀
ОтветитьMe too I grew up with all that great music, so sad to hear all these wonderful singers are going, but we are lucky for recordings, aren't we. He had a beautiful voice.
ОтветитьI didn't know about him all that much, but I didn't know he was the one that sang the theme on The Love Boat great voice. Prayers to his family sorry for there loss.
ОтветитьI know I'm getting older but I literally hate today's music. It's amelodic, the lyrics are repetitive, mean nothing. and the singers try to look as weird as possible. The older singers could walk out on a stage with poor acoustics, minimal technology and still deliver a beautiful song while looking fabulous. Most things are worse now than 40-50 years ago.
ОтветитьHe had set his course for adventure.
Ответить😢R i.p and thanks Steve for sharing
ОтветитьThanks Steve,,,What a great singer....Just found out because of your video, ok...Much appreciated Steve,ok...R.I.P to Mr.Jack Jones,,
