Hi George nice finds in January. Ive been looking for the tain horslips since i started collecting again in 2011 never seen it at any record fairs ive been probably just missed it . That beach boys album is great i need to check my pressing and condition as bought ages ago . Happy new year. Joe
ОтветитьGood stuff again George.Vinilo Vintage has had some decent rarities. I was in a similiar position there with the Meat Puppets record which I bought for £120.00!!!..but that will be a £200.00 plus record in about 5 years & I really wanted it & have played it loads . Ive never paid more than £50.00 before. I know Black Star, hit & miss but nice shop. i know Paddy well. Fantastic chap..very knowelgable too, we meet up every few months. That Pete is an interesting sellar, bought some lovely dance 12" of him & he's always keen to move the stock. I included 'Rock Bottom in my perfect records vidoe. 'Sea Song' is just wonderful.
ОтветитьBeen looking for that Humble Pie too. Never see it, except for the odd roached or overpriced copy online. I love Live With Me.
ОтветитьHi George, great to meet you yesterday, just wish I’d got to Rock Bottom before you :) I too went over to Vinilo and actually got a couple of great records in their 50p racks! And next time you should visit Oxfam records round the corner. Thanks for the mention, I’m sure we’ll bump into each other again - Paddy
ОтветитьThat was me.🙂I got the tain a new one for £17.50 so your copy was a bargin for £9.Great band Budgie how much did that cost and the Humble Pie album?.What do you use to clean your records?I am going to get a vacuum Pro-Ject VC-E2, Compact record cleaning machine I was going to get Knosti Disco Anti-Stat Ultrasonic 2.0 but after reading about vacuum record cleaners i have decided to get one.I got all the early Spirit albums and that double one you got.
ОтветитьI must have just missed you at the Southampton record fair. Yes not many sellers this time around and I did walk out empty handed but I also bumped into paddy and we had a chin wag.
Have a good new year. 🎉
Will you be doing the 2025 tag
G’day George , Nice pickups . I have that Humble Pie and love it . Didn’t know about the WWA Sabbath , we just had the Vertigo spaceship in Australia . Happy New Year mate !
ОтветитьHey George
The New Forest is great..my sister has a flat nearby in Southbourne so its very handy to visit..i go down with my son to Burley and we hire bikes.
I have visited Black Star and picked up a couple of 90s records..i found their inventory of used records a bit thin.
I really like SBS it's probably my favourite along with Vol4 and Paranoid...the last song is fabulous.
Robert Wyartt is an interesting artist, i have one of his later albums that he recorded with Brian Eno called Shleep that has some great songs on it.
Nice Monochrome Set, they're a great band.
Lovely Smiley Smile, quirky and strange Beach Boys.
Nice one George, have a great new year.
Great pick ups George. In For The Kill is my favourite Budgie album. Love it. I’m staying at a hotel in New Forest I’m a couple of weeks. Might pay a few shops a visit. Happy new year fella. Look forward to your videos in 2025. Cheers, Chris
ОтветитьHello George, can't beat finding these great records in the wild. I popped my head around the door of Black Star a couple of weeks ago, seemed to be light on records on that occasion. I have been sorting out some fairs new stock today including a Colin Newman album titled 'Commercial Suicide' - as you mention him I will give it a spin.
Hopefully will catch up with you at a record fair in 2025 - they will be busier come the New Year. Best regards, Richard.
Wow, busy man! You’re so right about purchases meaning so much more when they’re random and in the flesh. Question: not just for you but other viewers - do any of you ever feel awkward going into small shops when you’re the only customer, like you feel you have to buy something or at least stay a while?
