My son is in the middle of buying a home it was updated beautifully but upon inspection old outdated wiring and a bad roof. So what shows on the outside doesn’t mean the insides are good.

Sounds like allegedly, you have more than one person to possibly look into. Home inspection should have caught this? Home Warranty? Real estate agent? Contractor? Seller? Girl. You need to look up the meaning of the word allegedly. And the word literally.

This was a inevitable scenario from the first "we found our dream house" and "I'm going to redecorate and replace flooring myself". Apparently somebody has never even watched a TV flip show.

That 'little sewage' issue ain't so little in the US south where houses are built on concrete slabs. She's gonna be replacing a lot more than surface flooring when the entire foundation needs to be jackhammered out, which may affect the integrity of the whole building, and why the previous owners didn't attempt a more drastic permanent, and costly, fix.

I thought that is what happens when you buy a home as is :/ you scaring me out of buying a house 😵‍💫

I hate to say it but I saw this coming when the first video of all that tile being torn up in that older house. Old houses have lots of expensive old problems. Welcome to home ownership. After the mold issues in your rental I was praying you hired the best home inspector money could buy x2 to make sure every single possible issue was found and pointed out. Good Luck taking the former homeowber to court. Legal fees are bo joke. Our HOAs lawyer charges us $320 per hour for advice calls. Its even more if we cant settle matters in mediation. Im really sad that your dream is turning into a nightmare.

This is why I'll just keep renting instead of buying. I don't have money to be shelling out money every time something needs repair or replacement like roofs, a/c, appliances, plumbing just to mention a few. Those things are costly these days.

If you had a home inspection and everything was not disclosed the contract is void and you can get all your money back or even the parts not disclosed must be fixed by seller costs
