The ukrainian presidential election is also supposed to be held in 2024, on 31st march. The russian election is supposed to be held 2 weeks earlier, in 17th march.
2nd round is held 3 weeks after 1st round in both countries, if necessary.

Dictators never step down, they are either killed or forcibly removed. There is no such thing as a democratic election in Russia.

Let me break it to you as simple as possible. Everything Russia did was in accordance with her laws. They disbanded Wagner because by Russian law you cannot have private military units on Russian territory. As soon as Russia incorporated Zaporizhia and Kherson into RF, they had to do something with PMC's who were until then operating outside of Russia's borders. I mentioned this only for you to understand that although you might think it isn't so, Russia abides by it's laws. That being said, there is no law that can allow presidential elections to be abolished during peace time. And Russia is not in war.

The bigger question is will America have elections next year. The democrats are already trying to imprison their political rivals following in Russia’s and Ukraines footsteps, so maybe they are looking for a way to cancel the elections if all else fails.
