Growin' up in the '70's

Times they were much different back then I will give it that. Growing up in mostly, small communities I was sheltered from most of the turmoil of the 1970s. My brother had returned from Vietnam in around 1971, but I hadn't seen him since he insisted in 1968. That way he beat out the draft and got to pick a field to go into. Back at home all was well and not well from I saw on the tv every day. I turned 18 in 1979 and had to register for the draft for a war that never came. The 70s were a great time to be a kid, and I believe not having any of the technology we are spoiled with today back then, made us adventurers. Every day was a new experience because it really hadn't been done yet. I did however stay away from the elephant in the room, Weed! Smoking pot was big thing in the 70s but I didn't want this to wind up being about weed. :)
