This year I m using a 5 gallon container for an indeterminate cherry tomato plant in my brand new home where HOA restricts digging my yard deep. Mistake!! Next year, I will use 15 gal grow bag. Tks for the info. I like the grow bag material mulch.

I just prune my indeterminate tomatoes to fit my need. You don't have to let them grow to crazy heights

All great advice for growing tomatoes! However, no one ever addresses ways to keep critters (squirrels, chipmunks, etc.) from eating the blossoms and fruit. I had to stop growing tomatoes because of this problem.

This was wonderful and so helpful! My question is about the mulching, is it necessary when using plastic containers since plastic isn't breathable like the fabric containers?

For any fellow Australian gardeners, I would highly recommend looking into the dwarf tomato project if you’re looking for varieties to grow in limitied space. They have some super cool ones. I think they're available in other countires too, but I'm not sure.

The part u talked about powdery mildew and how the plant inevitably loses all its leaves at the bottom to disease.. was so validating for me 😭 I was panicking before this video! Thank you for all this info

Thanks for a very informative video. Any idea what could cause mealy tomatoes? I had that issue last year growing tomatoes in a northern climate in a greenhouse in grow bags and raised beds with irrigation.
