Ok.. Let’s settle this.
Let’s define “freestyle”. For me and the people I grew up with, a “freestyle” is literally an improvised verse. Coming up with the words on the spot. Now based on comments I’ve read, some people consider this a sub category of freestyle while the in fact it is really just a live rap of a that you don’t have written down in front of you and that also has never been recorded.

Now I understand having a line or two in your back pocket to use when it’s needed but I don’t consider the latter a freestyle.

*Now as far as this video goes. Even if this isn’t the kind complete spontaneity that would make Phish blush, it’s still awesome. When people ask me my favorite rapper I always say Slim Shady, not Eminem.
