the concrete steps are a cut trough the mountain to allow for the road. The walls are holding the earth and are dotted with pipes to allow for drainage to stop it from sliding.

I know you are an animal lover, but my advice is to stay away from stray dogs. Especially, especially if they are in groups. They can be aggressive and carry diseases such as rabies. If you are bitten, go to the hospital as soon as possible. It is better to be cautious rather than be sorry later.
