I like the arched oven interior, but notice all styles have a large gap between the bottom of the grate and the optimum heat location of the gas flame, causes a huge amount of gas to be used at full flame to even reach that optimium location, please consider redesigning the grate height.

Hi, what is your opinion between Wolf vs cornufe ? Which one cooks more evenly and better? I can't find much information about Cornufe. Apart from money and service (after sale) , which one would you recommend?
Also how about chetaue electric oven and wolf oven?
For me, hob doesnt matter. I am worried about oven

Italian Officine Gulo is also a worthy competitor.

I love my Lacanche. I love that it looks as good and functions as well at 10 years old as it will at 75 years old. I took nearly 5 years to decide I wanted to make the investment and I've never regretted doing so; however, I am very glad I did not rush into it. Mine is a Rully (a Cormatin with 2 ovens) which is perfect for my 100-year-old bungalow, but which may feature a smaller oven than Americans expect. I also looked at CornuFe (La Cornue being out of reach for me) but there really is no comparison between Lacanche and CornuFe.

Fun side note - I visited Lacanche (near Beaune) to see where my range was built. Jean Jacques Augagneur was kind enough to take my friends and me out to lunch after giving us a tour of the factory. Another American couple was visiting their range at the same time. If you do decide to purchase a Lacanche, you may find you develop quite a relationship with it. 🙂

Does anyone know if my Lacanche in Germany will work in the US? In other words can I ship my Lacanche to the U.S. and simply just change the plug connection in the back and it will work in the U.S.?

I have always wanted a La Cornue but I have been through many multi-million dollar homes and even at above $5 million and $10 million, I have only ever seen one house with a La Cornue in it. I always found that strange. Almost always it's a Wolf or Viking. My neighbor has an incredible 60 inch Viking in green and gold and while it looks impressive I haven't found it really does anything that special.

I am Italian and I live in Italy ,I have lacanche range , which I love but to be onest American pro range ovens are much better, brand like Wolf Termadore ( which is not in to the market in Italy ) and Viking ,give more option to oven function and the self cleaning is the cookbest friend .As a style French range have more …charme…colors and style

I'm curious as to why Molteni was left out of this comparison. Particularly because the video is titled the best "French" range.

i m a private chef and i have been working this last 3 months on lacornue with both ovens gas and electric, it was a bloody nightmare! impossible to get the right oven temperatures, things get burn and uncooked inside. the difference temperature from the back to the front is huge, stove is such a pain to clean! okey it's looks great but 100k for such a piece of crap, what a shame... for me the worst cooking time ever!

what is your opinion of purchasing a LaCornuFe thru Williams Sonoma?

You are correct that Lacanche is in between the CornuFe and the Chateau. However, Chateau is soooo much more that I feel it’s a different category all together. Lacanche and CornuFe are a closer comparison. Yes, American ranges have more standard sizes, steam, and stronger BTU. However, I have yet to see one that has the character, beauty, and personality of a Lacanche. I also chose it because it is NOT smart. Unlike an Ilve that completely stops working all together if the clock breaks…the Lacanche can work if we lose power, has parts I can fix myself, so I am less reliant on ever breaking technology and cheap, throwaway parts. Just my two cents on why I chose what I chose.

Realistically, I can't afford to buy either unless I were to win a Lottery, and if I did then I would more likely buy either Cove/SubZero/Wolf or Gaggenau. However, between these two, I would choose Lacanche.

Given AGA builds the cornue fe line, how is the quality and reliability? Can it be used as a proxy for the AGA ranges for reliability discussions?
