The Ultimate Master Yi Jungle Guide | All Builds, Runes, Tips and Tricks Explained

Sinerias Yi Tips:

- You want to get stronger every second in a fight
- BORK – You can shred people to death. Anyone!
- Almost always start red.
- Objectives don’t matter too much. Don’t die for them.
o If free, take them instantly. You are very fast.
- Clear/ Farm efficiency is king.
- Yi Strengths:
o Tower diving
o Counterganks
o Gank bot with lvl 6.
o Playing off powerspikes (bork, rb)
o Splitpush
 Your team has a weak teamfight
 Enemy is weak on side
- Don’t go for ganks when ult and flash are down.
o Only gank with high % high impact
- Fighting with R down is tricky.
o Communicate with your team.
o If you would just die, rather farm.
- Buy damage if you will die anyways. Invest in survivability if you can live.
- If your team has no engage, wait for the enemy to engage and waste abilities.
o Patience is key.

I wonder. Why people use king + guinsoo instead of king + kraken. In the training tool I have rested that the second option gives more damage and dps per second.

I feel like the normal dps build is weaker this patch and it is hard to kill ADCs if you are behind - sometimes you even lose 1v1

kraken over terminus ? i feel like tanks and bruiser have way too much armor this patch so it feels like terminus is better than kraken 3rd item

I played yi for the hole last split, but it feeled like its like flip or hart to pull off for me because half of the games I completely conquered the game and 1v9ed, but the other half of the games I couldnt do anything although I made a decent game with only a few little mistakes

I use LT against tanky team comp and use HOB against squishy team comp. For the Lethal Tempo build: BORK > RB > Terminus/DD > Terminus/DD > Shojin/PD/Hexplate (Boots is always defensive). For the Hail Of Blades build: BORK > LDR > I.E > PD > Navori (Boots is mostly Berzerker's but can be defensive depending on playstyle). Going Titanic feels kinda weak for me on some instances so I'd rather go DD than Titanic.

What about going over as cap? With as boots, bork, rageblade you are already close with ult and leathal stacked. With witsend you go over it. Should i just ignore it or bild something else instead?

i disagree sinerias. in my elo i play against TEEMO jungle/top 80% of my games so QSS is INSANE value against that little rat

sometimes i got dark harvest and if its a long game and have a lot of stacks seems best with crit

@Sinerias what item should I build first against a team of 5 squishies?
I always default to BotRK 1st item but I personally don't like building it into champions that don't receive bonus health from their items. I used to build Kraken 1st item into squishies but I heard it got nerfed into the ground and I don't like building weak items since I have a very MinMax focused playstyle. I don't build wits end anymore either for the same reason.

What do you think about navori as third item for Yi? Normally it would give him an extra Q in most fight and his E will never goes on cooldown and still provide a decent amount of damage

I had the sudden urge to learn Yi about 3 minutes ago, now here we are

I'm master fiddle otp, decided to learn yi this season. Currently have 70% wr with 35 games on second acc with yi in gold 2 (started from silver), avg kda is like 14/6/7. Feels similar to fiddle, you're not making any plays without your ult or/and flash and powerfarm a lot. You can just say I'm smurfing, but I felt I'm dogshit at the game off fiddle
Btw really important advice for climbing in jungle is mastering your clear, it wins games. My clear rn is decent but I know for sure it could be 5-8 seconds faster if I train it, i'm just lazy :)
