I love the B52. That brace will slide right into a back pocket for carry.

The law will run into the law at some point were medical assistive tech runs into illegal item.

But the first thing I do is cut those shelf tubes off and put on good new latex (flat bands or tabs-n-tubes) with wrap-n-tuck.

They're good because they're available and safe to teach kids (or any new shooters or anyone with mobility/grip issues) becauae of the high and wide fork keep the ball off of the hands.

Simpleshot has a video on changing tubes to flat bands on a Daisy slingshot This would be highly recommended

I won a gray marble looking handle one around 82’. Haven’t shot it since the 80’s. Bought replacement daisy tubes at Walmart yesterday. Never tried aiming sideways before. I was hitting cans at 15 yards with my first shot. Tired quickly after so many shot extending my arm all the way out and anchoring to my mouth corner. It’s wicked! But it’s a pain to hold a clay ball in place with that thick stiff pouch.

Great advice on a great primitive effective weapon. Be good stewards of this ton of fun sport. Shoot responsibly

Yeah, these are unfortunately illegal here in Germany.
And I think that this is absolutely ridiculous, because if you're strong and have no problems with your joints(which I unfortunately have), that gives you a big advantage in how much energy you can produce with a slingshot.
And that is not only important for doing damage, but it also improves on the flight path of the ammo on longer distances, which is tremendously helpful in target shooting on longer distances.
But I can only do a handful of shots with a heavy band set before the pain in my elbow and shoulder gets too unbearable.
So it makes it unfair, in opinion, by not being allowed to use these.

I decided to get back into sling shots at 72 years of age. The B52 was the first I tried, it was awful. I couldn’t shoot it for very long and I couldn’t hit a barn door. I then bought a flat band sling shot from Amazon and I was hitting soda cans at 10 meters after a week. In a month I was hitting two inch targets and I was hunting squirrels and pigeons. I have been an avid bow hunter for years and I think that helped me progress
So quickly. I love this sport and I am upgrading my equipment asap.

I recently got a b52. I have no experience with slingshots and decided to start cheap. Didn't know what to expect and can't compare. It took me approx. 50 shots to get decent groupings on paper target at 30 ft. I have only used 3/8" clay balls that weigh 15.6gr and my average chrono at full draw is 176fps which equals 1.44 joule with these balls. I don't know what I can do with this other than plinking. Not enough joule to effectively pest control. The main value here is its cheap and fairly solid. I was also surprised at how fast my arm tired.

I bought one of the B52’s about a month ago and the tubes are just too strong for me. After trying this sling out I went and bought a cheap band sling shot from Amazon and it was worlds better. I will probably try converting this to bands.

I can’t believe New York outlawed a sling shots. I just purchased one of these and I am looking for a lighter set of tubes. They are too heavy for me. I thought they might loosen up a little but they haven’t. I use the 3/8” clay and I have harvested a couple of squirrels and a pigeon. My biggest complaint is the tubes.

the wrist support is really nice, coming from an archery background I only let the top of the slingshot rest between my index and thumb, and it gets me really nice accuracy

These appear to be the ones sold in the UK as the Barnett Black Widow going back decades. I grew up shooting one of these in the 1980’s and it always worked really well. I’ll have to get one to compare with my current slingshots which are mostly from Wasp 🐝 I’ve never shot one with tubes since so will be interesting to try.

this same slingshot is packaged through various companies here in the UK and if we look back at the older Barnett black widows… they, also, once used this exact same model! so yea it’s a good basic wrist rocket and i’m getting one off ebay to add to my collection…. they’re much more fun than shooting guns… and in a survival context…. you have an infinite supply of ammo… as if push comes to shove… you can shoot pebbles…. with a gun you have a finite supply of ammo that runs out with your last round!! so yea… a big thumbs up from me and a subscription as i like your style!

Thanx for posting, really enjoy your videos. I love using wire frame slingshots. I cut the bend off. Cut a vertical slot in each fork, put my 1632 or 2040 thru the slot, wrap the tag end once around the fork and back thru the slot. It never slips,is fast to change. It allows an old guy like me to pull it back.

It takes a while for the tubes to "break in" We shot rocks, marbles and mothballs with 'em in the mid 70's. With flatbands on them they shoot great.
