I'd forgotten this scene and how perfectly on point it was. Great to see it again.

Buffy’s face when she heard him say “you have a father’s love for the child,” changes cause he was the only father figure he had for her.

Little did we know, Giles’s replacement would turn out to be one of the best, most fleshed out and compelling characters in the Buffyverse…

When Buffy says bite me, I always die.

I just realized near the end they took the music score out. But honestly that score, along with ASH and SMG's performances made that scene. The music was always so good in Buffy.

The "Reboot" won't have scenes nor characters as compelling as this. God I miss this show, can't believe it has been 25 years since the show started I remember watching it as a kid & being mesmerized such a "gory" show would be on TV & I was allowed to watch it lol

Am I the only one who thinks Giles looked embarrassed when what's his name told Giles he has a fathers' love for Buffy.

As no-one has yet said it, I will... Harris Yulin is an absolutely fantastic actor. One of those tremendous character actors who pops up everywhere.

I loved it when she said to Quentin "I think you better leave town before my strength comes back". Yup, definitely. Giles was right when he said "You're waging a war, she's fighting, there's a difference". The Council views her as a weapon, not a person, that's the problem.

Giles was destined to be a Watcher and he hated it. He absolutely despised that horrific politics behind it. The Council treated Buffy and every other Slayer before her like weapons. Yes, they were in a way superhuman. They did have inherited strength that no other girl in the world had, but at the end of the day these girls were flesh and blood human beings and the Council treating them like something that could just be easily disposed of was disgusting. "It doesn't matter if Buffy dies because a new Slayer will be born". Giles knew that he was doing Buffy wrong even before he put the needle in her arm. He hated himself for doing that to her and made it up to her by coming to her defense at the end. Nobody died in this episode. Not a main character at least. But, this is definitely in the top 10 saddest episodes of BTVS. For me anyways. The two father figures in Buffy's life disappointing her was beyond gut wrenching. It was horrible.

"Bite me." Interesting choice of phrase, likening Quentin to the vampires she fights. An enemy.

I just love love love silent interactions vetween two characters who are immensely close and have nothing but love a trust and friendship between them UGH!! I love these two so much 💜💜💜

I was honestly surprised that they didn't try to figure out a way to arrest this guy. Didn't he get his own men killed in the process of this test, if memory serves me right. It's strange how they side step that whole part.

If I was Buffy, I would not have waited for my strength to come back. I would have grabbed a book off the shelf and John Wicked that S.O.B.

Buffy is one of the longest-lasting Slayers because she had people who loved her. Love is strength, not weakness.

I don't remember the episode but I love the moment when Buffy has finally had enough and quits the slayers organizations and realises they don't have any actual power over her. The slayers organizations Is only responsible for training the next slayer but they can't suddenly take away someone's power if they disagree with a decision. I know they did it in this scene but this was only temporary and good luck doing that again

The way the Watchers work, is why the slayers die. No emotional backup, so they have a total death wish.

the watchers don’t care about the slayers. They are disposable to them. When one dies the next one is called.

How could she not know how much he loves her?
