The first exorcist is the real story line. Then the one that took place in Africa was just the beginning of the first. All the rest don't count. But the Believer is definitely part of the first lol.

The original will always be a stand alone film to me. Believer sucked big big d!¢k$. Although part 3 wasn't too too bad. It was at least watchable. But the first exorcist was FREAKING DOPE and way ahead of its time. It's one of my favorite films of all time. Even the composer for the background music was superb! Save your money and ignore this new crappy believer sequel.

I want to know why in all there movies, the demons seem so much stronger than God? Like, why are the ones closest to God, the ones who suffer the most in these movies?

yeah well I heard there's a lot of unexpected BS Woke crap dialog arbitrarily worked into scenes of 'Exorcist: Believer' that have nothing to do with the plot so i won't be seeing it

Just watch the first film with both versions and the third film with both versions and skip the others. The only other thing I would suggest would maybe be the television series from 2016 but that’s it.

The only thing propelled Exorcist to success was the cheap shock value. No horror schlock could ever eclipse Newman/Redford.

You missed The Ninth Configuration, a side-quel to the Exorcist showing us what happened to the Astronaut that Regan warned "You're going to die up there, " it was originally released before The Exorcist but William Peter Blattey rewrote the story after The Exorcist and that was the version he made into a film.
It wasn't released by WB so most don't even know it exists but it is canon
