IMO Caesar's ability, when taken advantage of, is absurd. Everyone is right to question if it's better than free monuments, which are worth effectively 240 gold or 60 prod in every city founded, but a pure momentum based ability Caesar is absurd. He might struggle to start compared to Trajan, but Trajan has one of the best starts in the game and Caesar has a few tricks of his own. Getting 2 cleared barb camps gets you enough extra gold for two legion upgrades and then some, which can both chop another legion and then you get your first city and can do the same thing with 2 more legions. Basically it's a vicious cycle of getting an army up in the beginning and then every city lets you maintain that army even better, getting support for them and keeping them as up to date as possible.

Like how Abe doesn't need to choose between industrializing and expanding his military, Caesar doesn't need to choose between advancing his troops and updating his economy to maintain and improve them, because by doing one you're doing the other. Nothing absurd like Basil, but it's a luxury most dom civs can't afford.

The Great negotiators have milltaristic abilities and Commanders with abilities to have a prosperous Empire.
I won't be surprised if the Rulers of Sahara will have abilities which gives them bonuses from Snow tiles and negative yields from Grassland,Plains and Desert.

Mbande Nzinga is the one that looked the most interesting to me. The fact that you can found a religion is just great, get the voidsingers and the relic belief.

Having played a religion victory game with the new Saladin, I'd say he's pretty fun! The more aggressive approach covered by the flanking bonus encouraged a more interesting game as I usually play passive victories like tourism and science, and as someone who always struggles to even get a religion, the guaranteed great prophet was a big help. That flanking bonus in particular was very helpful, especially against the Deity bonuses.

Currently playing Nzinga Mbande, and because of her bonuses it's one of the first times I've been able to stay on pace with the AI in terms of science and culture yields from the start of the game, so her ability's become a quick favourite, like Maya's ability but just better. A definitely seems appropriate.

The more I look at these leaders, the more I see SS synergies. Julius with Owls to maximize the gold. Matambe with Voidsingers or HO would be really strong. Abe is probably Sanguine Pact for the extra production from a good vampire castle, but I can see an argument to be made for Voidsingers too.
Saladin would probably be another good Sanguine Pact because picture a vampire with +16 support, but he can probably do well with Voidsingers and Owls too.

Totally milking it at this point. How does one give a tier list for civs they haven't played yet.

After giving it some thought, I think the Kongo should be reworked, both leaders, civ abilities, and the Mbanza. My suggestion is give Nzinga +5% flat to all yields in home continent and double it in all cities with a Mbanza. -15% otherwise. And I think the first Mbanza in a city should have a Great Work slol regardless of the leader. But then, let Nzinga have 2 extra works of art slots in this Mbanza, while Mvemba has 1 relic slot and Mbanzas giving +2 appeal (public transport card). Finally, make the palace have only 3 slots and (maybe) Mbanzas theming automatically when full. (Rest of abilities stay the same). I think it would make for very interesting playstyles

Saladins bonus I find conflicting. Get a bonus from foreign cities following your religion but then you get a bonus for domination. I guess you go religion first into mamluk domination but you are losing the plus 1 science when you capture the city you converted. Like basil's ability plus crusade makes domination + religion go well together but Saladins seem to contradict.

I think he should get a boost when conquering a city following his religion - like idk get a missionary or a free eureka or science based on num of followers. Maybe to make this less strong, the double support bonus should only apply in cities following Saladin's relgion.

Unifier Qin will most likely be warmonger, the unification of China under Qing dynasty was brutal and Cleo could maybe go for some science related bonuses from Wonders, since the Plotemaic dynasty was the one that build the Great Library and s lot of the early museum in history

My problem with Caesar is that you don't get to use Trajan. Free monuments is a very strong ability.

My Saladin game was whack :(
The maps have me no way to get decent flanking bonuses and Basil rushed me super early so I was stuck in a crab bucket war.

My Ana Nzinga game was great though. I'm in the middle of Abe right now. only just about to reach Industrial Zones though.

How do you use Magnus on all those cities in 5-6 turns when he takes 5 turns to be active in a city?

I have watched half of this video and there were already three leaders that have not yet been released. A look at the video chapters suggests, more future leaders are discussed in the rest of the video. So I want to ask the audience here: Were there more leaks of the remaining leader pass content? Then I would not watch this video till the end (for now) because I do not want to be spoiled. Or is Boesthius just speculating about the leader abilities? (Then to be honest, I do not think a tier list would make much sense at this point.)

Given that you are going in blind with the Commanders pack, does that mean the leak from a couple of days ago is confirmed as fake? Hope so, Tokugawa seemed a bit naff and was looking forward to playing the character.

For Caesar on marathon its great with barb clans. Raid a barb camp before steel is 450 gold/10 turns, after steel its like 1650 gold/10 turns. Just raiding two barb camps after steel you're getting over 300 gold per turn. Using gold to buy things is just so much more efficient on longer game speeds so you can really get a lot of momentum.

I've been thinking about it and maybe the gold Caesar gets could scale based on the population of the city. Mabye around 100 gold per every citizen before the conquering of the city. I think that would make him really strong and fully encourage you to conquer everything.

Isn't Egypt's actual significant thing that floods do not damage them at all? Like, they get potential for big yield boosts (and those faster build times) with no drawbacks that you usually get from settling on floodplains. Like, yeah Japan gets Hurricane immunity and Russia blizzard immunity, but those both are just occasional storms that might or might not hit you, while floods will always happen in the specific spots. It's the only disadter immunity that actually feels significant, and it actually is a big deal.

I am kind of disappointed that there won't be a new Native American leader.

yongle has proven to be broken, just played my first game with him today and bumrushing 10 pop on cities can give you some dam good cities.

I was ready hoping for England to get thatcher as a leader but sadly not yet :(
