Sad as it is to say, Kennedy won. She stayed employed long enough to ruin a beloved franchise and nobody has removed her. She'll stay as long as she wants and she'll leave when she's damned well ready to.
The franchise might recover some day after she's gone, but until then she can laugh all the way to the bank. Kennedy: "I'll trash this franchise and the fans will pay for it!".

The creative people who would have produced content different than what we’ve been seeing for the last few years are no longer with the company in any department. The creative departments have been entirely ideologically captured. Kevin Feige is an excellent example… Marvel hasn’t been successful because of him, it was successful because of his predecessor.

$$$ is the answer as always. Star Wars was bought for 4 billion and they made that back on the sequel trilogy alone. Hate her all you want but investors looking at value alone she’s done a great job. Star Wars is also a pillar on Disney+, merchandise sales are still high, Galaxy’s Edge has done well (let’s just forget about that cruise lol). Disney Stock is up 27% this year. I’m in the market and have some money in Disney (bought when Iger came back lol) and just saying like…this is why she’s still got her job. It’s not cause she’s a woman or has dirt on people…Star Wars is now worth probably triple what Disney paid for it just 12 years later and that looks good to the shareholders and her main boss.

Disney has contempt for Star Wars fans beyond all logic and reason. Kennedy was hired to create a "new modern female audience" for Star wars. She did what they wanted and the failures are blamed on racist and sexist audiences.

She hasn’t blackmailed anyone, it may involve her seniority to an extent. I think as far as Disney is concerned, if her job metrics are to to improve their ESG score and DEI strategy then by those metrics she has done a good job. That’s the only way it makes sense to me. She must have made them money in this way, and they are not taking into consideration the long term conundrum Star Wars is now in.

If her job performance is based on project management in terms of getting a certain amount of Disney+ projects out, without taking into consideration cost and quality, then she may have succeeded in that way and they simply cannot fire her if they wanted to. Something is in her contract that keeps her around. Like a golden parachute in her contract or a quota she has reached.

It could be that nobody is around who wants the job too, she has screwed up so bad that it’s a mountain of a task for whoever takes over, because Disney now may make quality and fan retention a priority in the long term.
