From what I have heard here you are not really up to date with current technology regarding the European military air force.
The Eurofighter, Rafale and the Gripen are very versatile multirole aircraft that have already earned their stripes.
Especially the new version of the Gripen. Gripen E is an aircraft that leaves many others behind. The Gripen C was already a formidable opponent during the RED-FLAG exercises in the USA. Destroying F15 and F15 as if it were a game. The Gripen E has technology on board that most opponents will fear.
Regarding versatility, the Gripen E is just about the best aircraft on the world market with assets that no other aircraft has.

I fail to understand why so many viewers seem upset - you really should accept that the video's for entertainment purposes only and has little - if anything at all - to do with real world performance (which usually is the case with linear ranking systems, even when they're not some semi scientific homebrew).

doesn't the gripen have combat experience in excercises against F16s and they did very well. Like, as in, extremely well? Not to say the gripen is the best, not by far, any f35s easily beats it, but considering for the opertational cost of an f35 you could have 5 gripens in the air, it's hard to beat in terms of effectiveness, even if its just by numbers. One on one? Gripen loses 10 out of 10 times, but no one will do one on ones. It doesn't happen. Gripens were designed specifically to counter Russian air philosophy and jets, not the US. I'm seeing a lot of commenters comparing the Gripen to the F35s Or the US in general, but fighting against the US compared to Russia requires completely different design philosophy. What works against the Russians might not work against the Americans, and vice-versa.

You are wrong about Mirage 2000 from 1979 more advanced or ranked better in total as Gripen who started be manufactured 1997. It,s a top modern 4,5 generation aircraft today

I find it a bit weird as a ranking, Rafale is currently a huge success story and has proven to be extremely versatile, I can't understand how Eurofighter would surpass it since the reason France left EuroFighter's project and developed the Rafale is exactly for that reason that they wanted something more versatile and capable of doing absolutely all possible tasks (which it has proven to do very well many times in combat...)

The price of a Gripen per unit is more then a F-35. Why would anyone buy such an expensive fighter jet? Costs!! The Gripen costs about 8k USD per flight hour, the F-35 about 40k USD, Gripen can land everywhere, easy to refuel and rearm can be done in 20min by 2 trained professionals and 6 conscitps . It takes 35-40 man to service a F-35. The Gripen was developed by brilliant Swedish engineers to meet the threat of Russia. Get your facts right. We are a nation of just 10milj ppl and still manage to produce our own defense. With Russia as our Neighbor, Get your shit right before you post!
