Thanks Merv!!! This video may have been the most useful 9 minutes and 48 seconds of 2023 so far!!! I knew something was wrong with my dishwasher because it had minimal water flow, not even enough pressure to spin the wash arms, so I was thinking I needed to replace it, but I followed your instructions and took everything apart (my dishwasher was a bit different but it was still just as easy as you made it look) and I found a mesh filter by the grinder that was all clogged up. Once I took that out and cleaned it, and reassembled everything, it was working good as new again.

Merv after doing all this in part 1 my poor dishwasher still didn’t spray and clean even though I found several nasty buildups. Your part two was such a life saver. My kitchenaid washer needed a new circulation pump/motor at the end of the day. 50 bucks on Amazon. Slapped it together. She works. I am my wife’s hero. Was so proud of myself for cleaning all the nasty gunk outta my dishwasher, but now it leaks water everywhere. I even broke the same stopper thingy on the top rack. Gonna go back and repeat all the steps until I figure out what i did wrong, 'cause I know it wasn't Merv's fault. 😢

There is a special corner of hell reserved for the idiot who designed this cheap piece of crap dishwasher made by GE. It takes a tremendous amount of time and patience to disassemble, clean and reassemble all the bits. NEVER AGAIN!🤬

M 25 yo dishwasher was not cleaning as well as it did in the past. I noticed that the detergent compartment was looking ragged. The detergent was being washing out during the pre wash. Ordered a new one. I ran a test by manually adding the detergent after the pre wash and the dishes were perfect.
