ОтветитьWonder if you could replace the arrowroot with tapioca flour?

ОтветитьHi, why do you need cornstarch or arrowroot powder? Is it ok to just use baking soda and cream of tartar?
ОтветитьNice kitchen

Baking powder BISCUITS
I first found out about baking powder (before then I'd only heard of baking soda because my family didn't bake) when I saw an episode of Arthur where he tries to make chocolate cake. His father gives him some pointers and sends him in for baking powder, and he accidentally grabs baking soda instead. He was sad to see his cake ruined, but to his surprised everyone enjoyed his brownies and didn't even realize it was supposed to be cake!
ОтветитьI've always just used baking soda and cream of tartar. Never heard of using arrowroot or other stuff. 🤔
ОтветитьI REALLY ENJOY YOUR
PROGRAMS. DOES NOT CREAM OF TARTAR CONTAIN ALUMINUM? SHALOM
Is there anything that you can you instead of cream of tartar? Our girls can't have anything with grapes.
ОтветитьThank you Stacy! I learned a lot from this video. I will make my baking powder like this from now on.
ОтветитьStacy, I don't know why I can't keep this in my head, but it is so awesome to be able to pull up one of your videos from 2018 to remind me!! Thank you! I'm a retired teacher and I love the way you teach...so thorough with concrete visuals!! 💝
ОтветитьI'm sorry. I'm know this is a negative comment but it seems like from watching your videos the publis and your channel has paid for what you all have. I mean where's the deal on that. You've got everybody donating and sending you stuff and yes you do work hard but really what has paid for your land and everything is social media and people giving you money.
ОтветитьThank you Stacy 🥰
ОтветитьDon’t make ahead- mix it up in the recipe. For 1 tsp Baking Powder, add 1/4 tsp soda + 2/4 cream of tartar to your batter or dough. (the missing 1/4 was just starch filler.) Your biscuits will thank you :-)
ОтветитьThank you so much.
ОтветитьSo awesome
Ответитьmost baking powder has aluminum in it. disgusting.😡
ОтветитьHow about tapioca powder?
ОтветитьYou have so many videos! I was looking for a video and of course you have the one I need!!! I an so thankful for you and Doug and can barely wait for your health book
ОтветитьGood info as I just ran out of baking powder and had to borrow some from my sister to finish a banana bread recipe and I put it on my grocery list!
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьLols, baking powder is literally baking soda and cornstarch. It literally says it on the baking powder containers in the store. The other ingredients are just preservatives and anti caking agents. If you cannot have corn you can use potato starch.
What you made is not baking powder.
Good to know information on or off grid. Thank you.
ОтветитьGreat easy recipe! I’m making my own here on out 😁thx
ОтветитьThank you, Stacy! I was was in the middle of making bisquits when I realized there was only half the amount of baking powder in the can as needed 😮 ! Bisquits are in the oven and the gravy is thickening.
ОтветитьBaking Soda is good as medicine too if you use with vinegar..For gastric problems or stomach ache...Best of the best..Drink those buble that is made with vinegar water and baking soda and gastric problem will be gone in 2 min..Everything that go about the stomac this 3 elements clean..Water,baking soda and vinegar..❤❤❤..
ОтветитьIn order to make baking soda you need baking powder, in order to make baking powder you need baking soda (I just want to make baking soda and mix it with vinegar to produce co2 and freeze it to make dry ice and put it in the water bottle to make soda water and then I can just create my own cola😢)
ОтветитьGreat thanks
ОтветитьPlease advise on how to make sodium free baking powder
ОтветитьIf you are using your baking powder right away then you only need 2 ingredients: 2 parts Cream or TarTar and 1 part baking soda. If you want to store it add Arrow Root orTapioca starch or Corn Starch. Using the Arrow Root orTapioca starch or the Corn Starch will help to avoid clumping and to avoid activation of all the ingredients in the jar. Recap- Using right away: 2 parts Cream of TarTar, 1 part baking soda.
Mixing for storage: 2 parts Cream of TarTar, 1part of baking soda and 1 part of Arrowroot or Tapioca starch or Corn Starch. Easy peezy, right?
Truthfully, I think it's waaaay easier to have the Cream of TarTar in one jar and the Baking Soda in another jar and mix as needed. This way there is no worries of clumping or activation of combined ingredients, just spoon out the 2 ingredients as needed. If you use alot of baking powder then you would want to make some ahead of time in a jar with all three ingredients.
I am adding this to my own recipe book. 😊
ОтветитьYou can make it without the cornstarch. The cornstarch is just to help keep it dry because moisture is the enemy of baking powder. If a person does not bake very much they might want to make it as they need it and leave the cornstarch out.
