Little bit ironic, voicing concerns about worker welfare and "look after the planet" while ordering everything through Amazon...
ОтветитьAs someone who has been playing guitar since the 1980s, there is no need to buy cheap, poor quality gear when you can buy VERY good gear for not a lot of money, and get even better deals if you buy second hand.
I'm British and I remember buying my first digital delay in the mid to late 80s, it was a Boss Digital Delay, and if memory serves, I think it cost me about £180 which in today's money is about £460.
I've just had a look on Anderton's at their cheapest multi FX units, and you can buy a Valeton MES-1 Dapper Mini Effect Strip with a Digital Delay, Chorus, Overdrive and Distortion for £59.
PLUS! It has a tuner, and the Digital Delay goes to 1000mS (The Boss Digital Delay went to 800mS), and it has tap tempo which the Boss didn't have either.
So. Compared to a guitar geek in the 1980s, today, you can buy an effects unit with 5 times the effects (I'm including the tuner as an effect as you would have to buy this as a separate unit in the 80s), with more features for nearly an 8th of the price, and I haven't even mentioned the great guitars for the money you can get from manufacturers like Vintage, East Coast, Harley Benton and Sire.
Who remembers the Les Paul Copies in the 1980s from companies like Satellite or Kay? Bodies made of plywood with a steam pressed plywood top to fake a carved top, but it was hollow underneath, complete with very weedy single coil pick-ups hiding under chrome PAF style covers so it looked like it had ''humbuckers.'' SHOCKING! 🫨🫨🫨
Same idea, different outcome? How good is the cheapest guitar setup on the used market?
ОтветитьWhat has this channel become. These weird skinner box ads, talking incomprehensibly fast so as to not lose the audience's 5-second attention span, tasteless dopamine-inducing sound effects. It's sad and all feels so sanitized and kowtowing. Unsubscribed after 4 years.
inb4 production quality
Awesome, too bad I am on the other side of the globe, everything except for the wah, since I already have a Crybaby pedal, would be nice to have in the collection. Thanks!
Ответитьthe labour conditions in china ? probably better than fender factories exploring mexicans...
Ответитьi was like alright the amp doesnt sound BAD but then you clicked that drive button.....
ОтветитьI liked the sound of the cheap guitar with the expensive amp at the end more than the expensive guitar with the cheap amp
ОтветитьI want a Fesley now!
ОтветитьCheap amp with the Fesley sounded great to play some indie rock/The Smiths type music, just need to add a good reverb pedal and a delay.
ОтветитьBro please. Never ever ever do doorbell sounds in videos. You have rallied the dogs
Ответить"It smells funny, never buy this." lol
ОтветитьI don't understand why buy $300 pedals when $15 Chinese pedals sound so good. Snobbery?
ОтветитьI bought a fesley telly style diy kit and I was blown away at its quality
Ответить“What kind of amp do you use?”
“I play a Cool Music Unique 50”😅
That's a US Amazon site...those guitars in Canada are twice that price.
ОтветитьGenerally when I watch these kind of product reviews my taste & limited second-hand exposure to the product tends to lead me to different ratings than the reviewer gives to some degree. This time though... 3/4 exact matches. My only differing opinion was the wah pedal. To hear it I thought it was... acceptable as Baby's First Wah Pedal. But the build quality (obviously) did it in, especially for a rocker pedal that Baby might put too much weight on when learning to use it. I wouldn't even give it the F, I'd give it a Did Not Qualify (as a pedal).
ОтветитьI've been eyeing fesley for a while, heard generally nice things surprisingly. I definitely wanna get one specifically for some midwest emo tunings
ОтветитьThat mix-up demo at the end was 👌🏼I appreciate the time it took you to make that. Conclusion: crappy amp = crappy tone. Especially with cleans.
ОтветитьCry baby wah for $99 on amazon has to be the easiest decision when buying a guitar pedal.
ОтветитьThe best pedals I have ever used are from Westminster Effects.
ОтветитьBro how wasn't I subscribed to this channel before?
ОтветитьSomething tells me blokes would still purchase that wah off of the link. To help you out, perhaps?
ОтветитьIt's all about the amp, that's what's carrying 90% of the tone, and 80% of the amps tone is being carried by the speaker and mic
ОтветитьIm a bass player. Ive found over the years that a lot of high end gear is expensive only because of the name. I use a Hartke Hi Drive 150 watt as a practice amp. Its amazing. I prefer it over an Ampeg B210 Rocket Bass that costs 200 dollar more. I Play primarily Jackson and Ibanez. I have an Ibanez ATK five string that isnt bad,, but I prefer the Jackson JC2 bass over it just for plain playability. Plus the sound is easier to work with and its built better in my opinion. The ATK was 1100 dollars while the Jackson was maybe 300.
ОтветитьGreat Video Samurai! Amazing comparisons, truly showing where gear and hard earned money is differential!
Ответитьcon la cantidad de gente que necesita ayuda en este sistema excluyente, estos burgueses capitalistas adictos a comprar y consumir no hacen mas que tirar el dinero a la basura
Ответитьman your playing is pretty suspicious
ОтветитьPedals: used those. It is a lottery. They sound OK, but sometimes the welding goes off and it is done for
ОтветитьIm so sad you missed the Unique joke you prompted when you mentioned the Unique amp with the pedal "anything paired with the unique fifty is gonna sound..." I was waiting for you to say "Unique?"
ОтветитьMan bun 😂
ОтветитьYea I got one of those War's yep plastic and I removed one rubber part of the foot part, it just works great after lubing the hinge and I have played around with the circuit great little thing for learning how they work.
ОтветитьI'm surprised the cheapest setup was not a clone starter, like a Squire starter kit
ОтветитьWhy was the fesly guitars tone so beautiful and warm? In the comparison I thought it had to be option B cause it was such a harsh terrible sound to me but that was a fender?!
ОтветитьLooks like someone copied my original Wah and made it 500% worse, then decided not to use any metal. 🤣
ОтветитьI love you, brother. Quality content as always. My wife bought your guitar course and absolutely loves it. I hope you and yours have a fantastic holiday. Much, much love, my friend. ✌️
ОтветитьI honestly did not care for the distortion pedal, and you can really hear how bad it is in the comparison portion of the video. Also yes, their circuits tend to be stolen ("reverse engineered") or just lifted from open source information - after all, 90% of all overdrive / distortion pedals use similar circuits, though the fine details do matter. Overall, you can get a decent OD or distortion pedal for 60~70 bucks, maybe even less if used. Won't be as shiny as a new chinese product, but will not eat your clarity as much.
ОтветитьI like the more the cheaper distortion pedal
ОтветитьThe effects pedals have stolen circuit boards from other brands ...but hey...it's still better than paying a heafty price for something that sucks (looking at boss with the ds2 turbo and some digitech stuff which were a screw over back in the day)
ОтветитьI want to know where I can get a Fesley T-shirt.
ОтветитьIf you are interested in cheap pedals you need to go check out the channel 60 cycle hum. He does a series called Aford-A-Board where he reviews cheap pedals. I picked up some of the pedals he reviewed to use with my synths. They work great. For basic old school effects like fuzz, phaser, flanger, delay etc; the cheap pedals get the job done.
ОтветитьI like the sound of that amp. The speaker has a nice tone. I may have to pick one up to try with my synths.
ОтветитьHoney will steal your commissions.
ОтветитьManbun, how many ads can you stick in one video?
Ghey AF
Good forr beginners. Not a huge investment
ОтветитьNext up, the Temu guitar rig
ОтветитьIt sounds great through my cheap laptop speakers
Ответитьhonestly, if you just put in some better pickups, that Fesley would probably be pretty nice 😂
edit: oh. you said the same thing at the end 😅
