If yiu are trying to remove wax and polish, It is great. Is it compatible with ceramic coatings? I’ll stick to boat soap or car wash.
ОтветитьNice work 👏 Like others are saying here, we've always felt that dish soap isn't optimal but it can work if you're in a pinch. Especially if you're planning to do a decon or need to clean wheels, arches, or the undercarriage. The ethanol content in a soap like Dawn is really the more concerning ingredient. Used sparingly you're likely safe, but I would be concerned about ethanol's potential to stain trim or dull plastics after repeated use (especially in a hot climate like So Cal).
ОтветитьDawn dish soap is probably one of the most softest soaps out there. There is a reason rescue workers use dawn dish soap to get oil off animals. It works. It’s a great degreaser.
Ответитьa tool for men to clean their car that fires thick white goo all over the car and is called a cannon....Maketing 101 kids. All the work is done by scrubbing with soap and the pressure washer
Ответитьfoam cannon is no different than soap in a bucket but it is excellent invention that sells well due to it looking like something that works
ОтветитьNo!!! DO NOT USE dawn dish washing soap. On cars at ALL.
ОтветитьDish detergent is only for tires.
ОтветитьIt’s amazing
ОтветитьFor those thinking of it. Good luck. Dish soap damages plastics and will dull out headlights and black plastics over time. Use the right stuff y’all.
ОтветитьI will admit...Dawm foams extremes well in those 2 liter electric foam sprayers! Works well for foaming house windows. For the car, ensure you put back the sealant youre about to strip using Dawn
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI prefer to wash by hand using a sponge or hand wash mitten glove and hose it down using a garden hose with normal hand sprayer is the safest. I think the electric motor high pressure sprayer can remove the wax or damage the vehicle's paint because the high pressure sprayer is too powerful and harsh. Just my opinion. I used to win 1st and 2nd place in car shows. My shiny gloss black 1984 Chevy Camaro Z28 was in two car magazines called Super Chevy magazine and Worldwide Camaro magazine back in year 2000 and 2002 and I still have the car which is already 41 years old.
ОтветитьDid you know the regular blue Dawn dish soap can remove oil stains from concrete drive ways and parking lots using a scrub brush and rising it off with water. It got all the oil stains out of the concrete and made it look like there was never an oil stain! No joke!
ОтветитьBeen watching your videos for quite some time now and you've become one of my top 3. Love what you do.
ОтветитьI wash my hands in Dawn dishwashing detergent before washing my car. Is this ok, or can the Dawn transfer from my hands onto the car and damage the paint?
ОтветитьIf you going to compound or polish or the car have never been cared
ОтветитьMy husband has restored classics full time since the late '90s. He contends Dawn is not worth the risk because prolonged exposure can lead to oxidation or tarnishing on unprotected steel. Think hidden nooks and crannies on classic cars that are bare metal.
Ответитьany dish soap would do.
Ответить🤔🧐 you better put wax on the car every time you wash it. Dishsoap like Dawn is a degeseaer.
ОтветитьHow bout salt ?
ОтветитьNo offense but any dish detergent or soap will turn rubber brown, and never use on dashboards, it will crack badly...
ОтветитьI always use dawn in the spring to strip everything down before a complete paint correction. Great in engine bays.
ОтветитьDawn Apple Blossom has been my go to for close to 20 years, dealer's like neutral smells when they get their vehicles back. And all my customers get full details, so washing the vehicles with it isn't an issue. Because they all get proper paint treatment afterwards. 💯
ОтветитьDawn is great for washing car but it is a degreaser so it cut the wax. Most cars don’t have any damn wax on them. Wax is typically a UV protectant. With out wax the shitty clear oats of 20-30 years ago would give up. Paint has come a very long way. You do t see that much any more and again most cars don’t have any wax on them. Very fire people actually care for their car correctly. Half the fools don’t change the oil when they should. You think they give a shit about wax. Dawn it up. No harm no foul no worry.
ОтветитьI’ve used dawn to wash my car with absolutely no ill effects. I wouldn’t wash my car in direct sunlight though because you really don’t want anything drying on your paint before you can remove it. I mean water spots are minerals etched into the surface so who really knows when cleaning products are added to the mix, better off to do it in the shade or at least earlier in the morning or in the evening but definitely not the middle of the day. Definitely never apply polishes or waxes in direct sunlight, most products have the warning right on the label not to do it
ОтветитьBest wheel/rim cleaner. Dawn power wash.
ОтветитьBack in the day i used dawn or whatever dish soap i had and i never had a issue.
ОтветитьDo you detail in Montreal or toronto? I just ran across your page and im looking for a detail for two vehicles?
ОтветитьDawn soap is 7/10 safe to use on car surface
ОтветитьNext: Is DAWN POWERWASH Dish Soap the HOLY GRAIL? 🤣FYI hand sanitizer is the GOAT for removing tree sap, it doesn't dry immediately like alcohol and its usually not as strong as pure alcohol. Bought a used truck that was sitting under a tree for years and its like its never seen sap in its life!
ОтветитьGreat video. Doing a couple patch test of the cars ceramic coating before and after the wash would have been perfect
ОтветитьIf it's safe for ducks it's safe for your car.
ОтветитьThis is more for the poor people who don’t give a damn about their own vehicle.
ОтветитьThat’s a lot of snow in the background
ОтветитьFor the customer who has bacon and egg residue all over his car… Dawn is up to the task!
ОтветитьI use a combination of dawn and Clorox. I apply with Brillo pads that seem to work well on especially dirty areas and is also great at removing brake dust.
Ответитьdid this and messup the shine of my car it became cloudy. no good.
ОтветитьDawn strips wax and ceramic sprays .....good strip wash because of the PH being so high .
ОтветитьYou get an A+ for HONESTY. I love Dawn as well - very gentle and very effective - does not damage paint - no one uses ancient wax any more so that point is MOOT - also - hot water, white vinegar, a little dawn equals very mild solution that you can use to detail entire inside of car with ZERO negatives - detailing chemical companies HATE IT...because IT IS COST EFFECTIVE and works like a CHAMPion - DAWN is KING !!!! And white vinegar is God's gift as a non-toxic effective cleaner - try pure white vinegar in shower/tub instead of the nasty crap that will grow tumors ! All the best bro - don't worry about the naysayers - keep the HONESTY FLOWING - Later dude.
ОтветитьBack in the 80s I used it for years and my paint got so dull
ОтветитьDo it multiple times and see what happens
ОтветитьI came in contact with poison ivy, I didn't itch as much as it sucked not too, got home took a shower in DAWN and it went away, since its the oils off the leaves, and DAWN is a degreaser! DAWN is the holy grain for everything. Add vinegar and hot water and carpet stain remover
ОтветитьIn the 70's and 80's we used dish soap. Then word spread that it greatly reduced the life of the car waxes of the day, and thus should be used only if you love to wax your car.
ОтветитьDestroys wax and clear coat
ОтветитьYour paint needs some serious correction.
ОтветитьI think people were using the wrong dilution
