Thanks, I’ve been using c1 for about 17 days now & struggling, this is just what I needed, great content, new sub, & I cant wait to see more from you! The one tip I will leave you with, is it would have been cool 😎 if you recorded this with the highlight marker turned on, so that when you clicked on a tool we could see exactly where that tool was, sometimes it was hard to tell where your cursor was...this helps people like me that are new to C1. Thanks again...
ОтветитьThanks for your video! I have been on and off capture one like three times because there’s no comprehensive migration example to follow leaving Lightroom. However you’ve convinced me to get the trial and try this out another time with these tips and tricks. I look forward to more of these!
ОтветитьAwesome, awesome video dude! I love your relaxed almost flippant style - not too serious, but enough to get the message across. I'm coming from 12yrs and hundreds of presets in L/R that I miss so much, but my L/R CC almost ground to a total stop it is that damnably slow. On the same machine C1 runs like a dream. It's a long learning curve but with wonderful videos like this it gives me light at the end of the tunnel. I also gave you a subscribe! Philip
ОтветитьAfter Lightroom, C1 is a software from a god. Right away got more pleasant results compared to lightroom.
ОтветитьVery Very Interesting. Current Lightroom user and also don't like renting the software.
ОтветитьWeird it gathers so many good notes. As far as I like c1's Ui and workflow then most of the time I try this soft i am forced to desaturate my photos hard and play more with white balance, while LR gives me clean starting point, which appears mostly the same as my camera told me when I previewed. If C1 would change their processing to achieve zero level to match LR then it wouldn't be a concern which one I'd be using :)
ОтветитьI still use LR V.6 and will still do so until I change my camera and it doesn't recognize
my NEF files any more. I have been learning how to use Capture One, and am quite
impressed with it. I only use both programmes for editing photos, I don't use them
for saving to catalogues etc, so I get a seamless transition between them. When the
time comes to ditch LR, I think I will stick with C1. It does have a steep learning curve,
but once you learn the basics, it is just as quick to edit multiple images as LR.
What software do you do more work in? Like Photoshop?
ОтветитьSo the reality is when you have a bunch of images already adjusted in LR. how will C1 import these adjustments? Will they be a digital match with what was done in LR? This should be more the focus of this video, as it is "switching to C1from LR", not getting started in C1.
The multiple stars are for people who work in commercial and such that need to keep parts of certain images, or stacking images, etc.
I switched from Lightroom to Capture One and find the tool much more powerful than Lightroom. I was always having to go into Photoshop making edits that compensate for Lightroom's shortcomings. Now I very rarely go onto other tools to make edits as I can do most of it in Capture One. I use Affinity Photo for some of those more tricky edits, but rarely.
ОтветитьGreat! how can I have the library on the left but all the other tools on the right? Like LR
Ответитьyes, of coarse C1 is fast at importing, this software is designed by Phase One, and to handle their Mamiya 645 D F / xf/xt which use 50->150 MP backs, and pro's use it for fashion, portrait shooting....so 12-36 MP is a piece of cake :-)
ОтветитьSo now that Capture One has moved away from a Pay Once to a yearly subscription model, do you still like it as much? I have just upgraded to the 2022 version from my C1 Nikon version (2021) and have just taken out a subscription for Photoshop and Lightroom package (previously used Photoshop CS6), I will decide at the end of the year which I will stick with. Very informative tutorial, I haven't used the catalogue feature as yet, but will have a go with it later and will also explore sessions. At the moment I just point to a folder and edit the images from there, probably not the most efficient way of working. Thank you for posting the tutorial.
