Macron : Europe must build locally new very small, very simple, very cheap Electric Vehicles, until it controls the technology and every EU Youth understands how it works . It's a new world , the Youth gets involved and trained, or Europe does not make it .End the War scam . Focus on AI , AI Chips, EV, Batteries and Cathodes , Jet Engines, Aviation, Space , Healthy Foods and Exercise .

Some European leaders especially Macron are really hypocrites. China will reiterate for sure and see how your economy can sustain.

Should’ve seen these reductions in new driving applicants coming. Quite frankly, this has been coming for a very long time. Who on earth now can actually reasonably afford a new car or even a good secondhand power without having to somehow set up a second loan/mortgage or something. so much for affordability it’s all nonsense. Our countries shouldn’t be surprised that we want to buy Chinese. When it comes to EV production, they are our only real option apart from Tesla. And yes, I put Chinese EV’s up there, thanks the fact that they actually at least have some good technology in them at an affordable price. And they are not just cheap and cheerful/Low quality, they are actually really good now but that ‘stigma’ is still a helpful thing for Western governments that want people to keep buying their products. I hate the CCP with a bane, but that doesn’t mean that companies car are bad.
Yes, China can afford the charger a lot of these prices. Thanks for the fact that they want to be competitive and they get subsidies from the government, but it’s also because they’ve actually got control of a lot of valuable mineral supply chains, which sadly in the west failed to do in favour of oil reserves.
They knew what button to press for the future, and ours failed when we begged our countries not to do so and actually think about the future rather than short term gains.
We need to be allowed to actually have the freedom to buy what we want over national protectionism.
If they don’t want us to do this, then actually give the people what they f%@king want. ‘You serve us, not we serve you’. Remember that.

No to protection, Yes to competition. Otherwise, consumers pay high prices for the protected, while these automakers have less pressure to improve its competitiveness.

if you decide to protect European corporations from competition with China, then protect European employees from migrants and offshoring to India and other cheap countries. then we will have money to buy expensive European cars

Coming from the loyal Peugeot fan, we were looking at the new Peugeot 3008, but that car is a disaster.

It feels like the engineers never test driven that car. Ergonomics are weird, suspension is not comfy. Media center seems like something they just plugged in there without giving it any tought.

And speking of prices, VAG plugin hybrids are much cheaper than Peugeots, whats up with that?

...."driving prices down." Isn´t that exactly what You need to fight inflation? As everybody is claiming to do? And what about the climate? Now suddenly it is not good to have cheap, affordable EVs? Up to 2019 yearly 18 to 19 million cars were soldin the EU over decades. Since Covid, more and more regulations, taxes on cars and driving, parking limits, speed limits, sales are consistently down to 12 to 13 million cars in a Year. Citizens simply can´t afford it any more. And yes, it is a combination of politics and ideology that brought us here.

The problem is not China it’s that the ordinary people don’t have enough money to afford the astronomically expensive cars. Aggregate demand in banksters jargon.
