I Turned My Allotment Garden Weeds Into Fine Dining

Hello and welcome to That British Homestead!

Today, I am tackling the weeds. Our allotment has gotten a little out of control with the number of weeds that are springing up. It has been the perfect weed growing weather..... lots of rain, lots of sun, and this time of year the weeds grow faster than the plants! They can be very very quickly over take and over shadow the plants we are trying to grow.

Weeds are the number one reason new growers give up on gardening, and why I like to show the true face of gardening in an allotment weeds and all. Anyone who spends any time on my channel know that I am not the instagram perfect gardener and as must gardeners do struggle with weeds. And the need edition to our family hasnt help... his tiny hands are not for weeding.

So the whole family take to the allotment to clear the weeds, I am hand weeding the carrot bed, to revile the one carrot that has germinated! do you think it will grow into a mega carrot?

Bob is weeding our lovely onions! which then I go over with the hoe, my new skill! i have to say Im so excited about this new way of defeating the weeds! i have to say i ahve been so impressed by this need gadget that as i was editing my new hoe has come! All fancy now!

Even Jasmine has Gotten into the weeding sprite and is harvesting the stinging nettles for stinging nettle soup! She wants everyone to know she isnt just weeding like a weirdo! I am not sure what it says about me!

Next we make sting nettle soup from ingredients that we have grown on the allotment! Amazing so see we can even eat the weeds! We then show the process we used to make stinging nettle soup and have a taste test!
