@tanner, great video analysis and insights. Thank you. For the return of serve during unstacking, I actually feel cross court (or middle) return might be better for the following reasons:
1. When you go down the line on your return, your partner can be more easily targeted down the line.
2. The person driving (when you return down the line) can hit his cross court drive angled off the court (that makes it harder for you as you now have bigger space to cover now since your partner has to worry about the line and his body)
3. It's hard for the driver to go behind your partner if your return is cross court. So your partner can help you more in the middle.
Agreed that when the return is cross court you'd have less time on opponents 3rd but that's offset by the fact that your return will also take longer to get to the driving guy since it's cross court.
been loving these breakdowns, keep 'em coming!
ОтветитьHow was playing against Ben Johns?
ОтветитьGreat video, really enjoy it! It’s so unique!
ОтветитьSeeing you play in the PPA AND WIN made my day. Very happy for you
ОтветитьAnother great video, thanks!
ОтветитьI came up with phrase to remember when to reset to the middle "When you are in a pickle, hit to the middle". So often we do too much when we are on defense or the ball is low for an attack. Thanks Tanner! The main benefit I get from this video is learning better how to anticipate a shot through pattern recognition.
Ответитьgreat analysis, very helpful! Hope to see more
ОтветитьAgree! These are the best videos for instruction available! Thank you!!!

ОтветитьI'm merely a 3.75 in practice, on a good day. Even though this material is pretty far away from what I need to use in my typical game play, I think it is important to keep advanced concepts percolating in my mind as I progress up the ladder. Knowing this sooner rather than later, I believe I will develop far fewer bad habits to fix later.
ОтветитьAnother Banger! Love these vids. Thank you!
ОтветитьThis is so good. Thank you Tanner. You are one of the top teachers for pickleball.
ОтветитьThese point-by-point breakdown videos, with normal speed then slow-motion analysis, are the BEST for my learning and progression. Thank you! Keep it up!!!
ОтветитьHey, did you play Anna lee and ben on mix?😮 up and coming analysis😮😮😮😮
ОтветитьSuper helpful, Tanner! I love your game analysis videos!
Unrelated — but your match against Yates and Blaine was a fun one to watch. I recorded a couple of good points- if you’d like, I can send them to you.
What paddles is kyle using ?
Ответить"The net's undefeated" ha! love it.
Geat video breakdown, thank you
Keep them coming. Good stuff.
ОтветитьFantastically helpful insights, thanks for that. Just one thing: the background music was somewhat distracting, i.e., kept me from fully listening to what you were saying. Just, um, saying, lol. Anyway, keep up the good picklin'!
ОтветитьIs that an adidas paddle? Looking good! Great video.
ОтветитьWould like to see more of this stuff. I often think, where should I place my next shot?!
ОтветитьSplit step when ball crosses net: any advice when you are bailing back? I hate when I don’t get set but trying to create more space at last second when bailing
Ответитьyour breakdowns of points is really helpful for teaching game strategy!!!
ОтветитьGreat breakdown! Are you watching and recording this in OBS? Or using some other software? I'd love to do stuff like this for fitness breakdowns.
ОтветитьI have a quick question, so at 5 minutes you talking about your partner in a firefight and you want to have your paddle extended middle is this also true for your backhand since in the video you're both forehand middle. Thanks great videos as always..
ОтветитьYou're one of the few pickleball channels I subscribe to because you're so passionate about the game. Love it. Keep the analysis content coming!
ОтветитьI was at the Chicago APP & watched/cheered for you & Kyle. I was the one with the cowbells...lol 🎉🎉🎉
Ответитьmore more more!!!!! so good, please do more!!
ОтветитьGreat analysis! Thank you.
ОтветитьI appreciate your enthusiasm and your humility. (It can be humbling to post your own matches and offer the critique of even your own play like this. Admirable. Too bad more of the "Studio Experts" are not willing to do this.)
My instructor had a heck of a time getting me to "dink soft middle when you're in trouble." You had to go and reinforce his tip, didn't you?! Seriously, I do believe this tip alone has been super valuable.
- Dink
As a 4.5, I feel like with some guys in 4.0 & 4.5 there's like an ego thing where they like to be the more aggressive player when on the right side. It seems like in the advanced levels everyone knows to let the forehand side take control.
ОтветитьHe said turmoil lol…. I know they family read the Bible lol
ОтветитьTan is the man
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьAnother great vid. Love these game/match analysis vids. The video production quality is also excellent. Thanks for sharing your journey and knowledge with the community.
ОтветитьI like a lot your lessons. Thank you. CAN You give us information how to chose paddle for an advanced player. Thank you.

Thisss is gooood!
ОтветитьPRO LEVEL analysis.
Tanner, it’s clear how much effort you’re putting into these videos—your attention to detail and the quality of your breakdowns are exceptional. Everything is so crisp and solid, making it incredibly easy to follow. I learned a ton from this! Do you happen to have a link to the full game as well?" This looks like a really fun challenging game
I love these videos! Thanks!
ОтветитьI'd enjoy a video highlighting the arc of the ball for dinks and drops. In particular where should the ball hit its peak and how high should that be. I've enjoyed all your videos that I've seen. Thanks.
ОтветитьGreat video.
ОтветитьGreat stuff
ОтветитьThank you!!! for this great breakdown. Best way to learn.
ОтветитьI am loving your analysis and just found your videos. This is the third I am watching but after 4 min. I’m not sure I can go on with the background music, just some constructive feedback for the future. Look forward to more analysis videos and cool you are playing with kyle his Shannan’s is excellent also.
ОтветитьAbsolutely some of the best teaching out there. Breaking down points like this helps us to not just watch the ball but actually watch the players and what they are going. GR8 stuff !!
ОтветитьIt's great to see a match where everyone is clearly very high level, wow you all are very very good!
