Ответитьje préfère la version JH personellement...
Ah merci merci!
One the best that no one has ever heard of. I'd upload my Tony Cole Album but it's a bit scratchy too. It's better than nothing at all. I love 'Goodbye Gemini' and 'Like A Rock & Roll Band'.
Gabrieelle !"
Ответитьthank you for your message. I only have one album of Tony Cole "magnificently mad" and one single "the king is dead" I knew Tony Cole by the French adaptation of the title 'the king is dead ", in French" Gabrielle "by the greatest French singer Johnny Hallyday who made a huge success. Johnny Hallyday made another adaptation of Tony Cole as is " magnificently mad "in French" l'amour violent "
Ответитьn the description I have added links to the French versions by johnny hallyday Johnny Hallyday made another adaptation of Tony Cole as "Magnificently mad" in French "l'amour violent "
Yes thanks, I know about Gabrielle (as Johnny Halliday is still touring and continues to be a big success!) but didn't know about "l'amour violent".
Ответитьthanks so much for uploading this rare gem ! JHallyday's version is one of my fav' songs, and I've been looking for the original for so long ! great track, I love it !
Hi, I'm very imprsessed, cause this song is an anthem in France, thanks to J Hallyday, but no one ever heard about the original track, which is great IMO, I love it. can I ask a favor ? I've been looking for the lyrics for half an hour, I can't find them... could you please write them down here for all us poor french speakers ?!!! cause I understand only 50% of the words when I listen to the song.... THANK YOU in andvance ! ! !
Trying to post but there is a restriction on the number of words I can type!! Here is the first verse - Gabrielle, you’re heavy on my mind but I see no sense in trying. Sure as hell, leaving you is bound to be a little bit like dying But we got to have more to share than the bed that we sleep in And I sincerely believe what we got ain’t worth keepin’ Whoa me, whoa my, girl I can’t see my reflection in your eyes. The king is dead, long live the king, good luck to him who sits on your throne...
The king is dead, long live the king, and if he sings the wrong kind of song, well you’ll run along, lay your love on the drama. Gabrielle, You’re easy on my eyes but that’s part of your deception Hard to tell, could be what you are and what you show has no connection Now you got the ways of a child but it’s just to confuse me And while I keep trying to find me you’re trying to lose me Lady of the tower wont you come down, heavy is the head that wears your crown. The king is dead....
Ответитьthank you so much ! but there are a few words missing after "who sits on your throne..." it's a great song, I don't understand why it wasn't a worldwide success really... how do you find our french version by Johnny Hallyday ? (1976) it's a classic here in France, we all love it ! thanks again !
Great song. Both versions ROCKS!
Merci galago :-)
Ответитьsuper
Ответитьtellement mieux que la version de jojo
Ответитьsuperbe la version de tony cole de the king is dead 1972 version anglaise de gabrielle de johnny hallyday 1976
Ответитьc'est le titre originel
On nous avait donc menti !!
Song SUCKS.
Merci ok
Apparently, this is the version of 77 released following the adaptation proposed by French singer Johnny Hallyday in 76 and its immense success in France.
The original version from 1972 is more folk and less "loaded", less full musically.
This one is much better. We feel that the version of Johnny shouldn't be foreign to this little "remastering".
Franchement, je ne connaissais pas.
Gabrielle!
You're heavy on my mind but I see no sense in trying.
Sure as hell, leaving you is bound to be a little bit like dying
But we've got to have more to share that the bed that we sleep in
And I sincerely believe what we got ain't worth keeping.
Whoa me, who am I? Girl, I can't see my reflection in your eyes.
The king is dead, long live the king!
Good luck to him who sits on your throne
'Cause you've called the tune and he'll have to play the piper.
The king is dead, long live the king!
And if he sings the wrong kind of song
When you're all alone, lay your love on the drama.
Gabrielle!
You're easy on my eyes but that's part of your deception.
Hard to tell, it could be what you are
And what you show has no connection.
Now, you've got the ways of a child but it's just to confuse me
And while I keep trying to find you, you're trying to lose me.
Lady of the tower, won't you come down?
Heavy is the head that wears your crown.
The king is dead, long live the king!
Good luck to him who sits on your throne
'Cause you've called the tune and he'll have to play the piper.
The king is dead, long live the king!
And if he sings the wrong kind of song
When you're all alone, lay your love on the drama.
The king is dead, long live the king!
Good luck to him who sits on your throne
'Cause you've called the tune and he'll have to play the piper.
The king is dead, long live the king!
And if he sings the wrong kind of song
When you're all alone, lay your love on the drama.
The king is dead, long live the king!
Good luck to him who sits on your throne!
