The Canon EOS R6 - Hands On Review

As always. Awesome video mate. What I want to know is whether the r6 has clean HDMI and does it cripple when set to clean. That is a big problem in the RP. I set clean HDMI to send to a big screen which then removes the ability to record in camera

why tf would you lower the quality on a later version of a camera, I just don't get it

I like the R5, but Canon has no fast ultra-wide primes - at all! - not even on the road map!

Here is what i see without scientific experiment.
An issue of both of my two R6s but have observed this in all r6 that i have seen!!

Please take a look at your body.

Take 2 photos with...
1/8000 in a uniform background
One shot with mechanical shutter and one with 1C-E shutter mode.
In my bodies, the one with mechanical mode shutter, appears more bright in the lower half of the image and darker on the other half.
In contrast, the one with 1C-e shutter mode (which the default shutter mode) appears normally exposured.

This difference happens on shutter speeds more than 1/1000 and it most exaggerated in 1/8000.

This is a major canon r6 and r5 flaw because the two images should look identical.

Just got my R6 in yesterday! Excited to get on it and from what I've learned it's going to be a MASSIVE leap up from my 6D Mkii. I just wish the lenses weren't so expensive!

It overheats in 4K, I've had it happen during a wedding film shoot. It sucks, really badly.

Hi Peter… I have a question for you. I’m nota pro but I have always done photography as a hobby and always shot Canon. I went mirrorless 2 years ago for an EOS R with the 28-105 4l. I only have a zoom 70-300 usm RF mount which I use with the RF adapter. Would the new RF 100-500 be a good choice for tele zoom because no one talks about this pairing. Would it be worth selling my R for the R5 or spend my money on glass. Again not a pro, don’t make money from it and do mostly wild life.

Hey Man, really useful and (especially) reassuring; if I but the R6 I still get a Damn good camera, both for stills n movie mode. Ok, like u said, not as ‘good’ as the R5, but does 80-90% of the R5, and it ain’t £5k + !!!

It is like microwaved food and cooked food.? its so interesting and looks cool. Ive only ever known coffee makers but this looks more homey... iif that makes sense.

Can someone please break this down for me, the r6 has 20MP while the rp has 26, why does the r6 look more sharp? I’m so sorry i’m new to photography and also there’s about $1,000 difference between these two here in Canada.

It’s also his lens that’s incredible as well so it’s not just the body. It’s the lens that does a phenomenal job as well. His color correcting is exceptional! I’m guessing the majority of his work is off of a 85 mm lens 1.4 and probably an exceptional 35 mm lens 1.2

I just ordered the Canon EOS R6. This will be my first ever full-frame camera! I can't wait to get my hands on it!!
