You guys are definitely a power couple ❤
ОтветитьGood morning 🌅, great work, just a suggestion your strip plates on your door. Stop and lock., you might be able to make up a plate in the metal and fit it to the wooden framework that way you’re not rubbing the strike mechanism against the wood, if you go online and put in brush style weatherstrip for pivot doors, there are a few companies in the US and in Australia that might be help to you, I’m from the UK and I have made things like this before, and obviously in wood, it is a lot easier, the other thing I thought about under extreme heat with the metal work of the will the framework or the door move to obviously cause you problems with draft, and do you get condensation on the metal work on the inside or are you going to insulate it at some point?, As I’ve put a metal roof on my shed a few months ago., and then had a serious problem with condensation so I ended up putting insulation stuck to the inside of the metal work, good luck with your projects it was very interesting, I did wonder whether it might have been worth spending a bit more time on your door just straighten it by putting another piece of steel on the inside to pull it straight, look forward to your next part of your project, Fr,
ОтветитьNice job newbys. For two people who have never done this, I don’t think it was luck. It was working together and keeping an eye on the details. Excellent!!!
ОтветитьRun a bead of weld along the outside diameter of the door curve. Or one might say run a bead or two along the convex side of the bow of the door. Or even a series of racks might have some effect. Grind that weld back and see if the curve is improved. The heating and cooling cycle should have some effect as well as the nature of weld shrink. I hope this idea is helpful.
ОтветитьJust a thought, maybe just use powerful magnets to hold the door shut instead of a doorknob, when it’s not deadbolted?
Ответитьbravo super
ОтветитьHi 👋 my fellow Oregonian's!! Wow, I really like that door idea ! That's a really cool door !! That house is going to be a monument of all the hard work and sacrifice the both of you have made !!! ❤ Thanks again for sharing 👍
ОтветитьIch liebe es so sehr, mach weiter wie immer
ОтветитьI think I would used heavy duty plastic top and bottom. It would help sturdy the door, seal it better, and the plastic would be slick enough for smooth operation of the door. Like a bushing.. I know it comes in white or black. It could be part of the frame.. or mounted to the door. Just thick enough for the gaps top and bottom.
ОтветитьCool
ОтветитьAnd about the bottom where the door meets the floor?
ОтветитьIf you take a come along and hook it at the top and bottom of the door and place a tall block right at the deepest point of the bow in the door and put the come along cable over it and tighten it, you can push that bow out of the door. Hopefully that makes sense?
ОтветитьWhat is your plan for insulation? Love your videos!
ОтветитьEnjoy all your videos whether it’s the build, the ambulance and your exploring, or products. Really appreciate all the time you must put into both the projects and your video production. Keep going and please ignore the content whiners….seems like there are some in every channels’ comments. 🙃
ОтветитьLove it so much keep it up as always 💘💟💟💟💟💟💟💟
ОтветитьLove your content and channel. I'm a born and bred Arizona man. I'm from Chino valley, Little hick town when i grew up. You have deep roots here?
ОтветитьUse a automatisch drop seal to seal the door.
ОтветитьWieder ein Schritt weiter, prima !
ОтветитьMagnifique !!
ОтветитьOverhead door seal s
ОтветитьMake a Z
ОтветитьHorlo, I’m looking forward to seeing the inside dressing up like stone or wood or whatever you put, instead of seeing the metal walls.
Ответитьglad to see you & valliant back at the work site, NOT infammercials
ОтветитьCan't you straighten the door? Find the center of the bow. Attach a chain to the top and bottom with enough slack for a hydraulic jack in the middle and put pressure on the door to straighten it and apply heat so that it releases the pressure. Just a thought. Or take the door off and do it flat.
Ответитьsweet*
ОтветитьWhen you build your deck in front of your door I would think of maybe a hallway or sunroom or something that would cut down on that wind anyway and the wear and tear
ОтветитьWhen did u learn to weld?
ОтветитьThe platform that you guys stand on to walking into the door maybe think about making like a sunroom hallway to the door that will cut down on all the wind on facing the front of your door
ОтветитьHi Guys. Haven't talked for a while. With my 50+ years of construction I have never installed a pivot door. Thanks so much for the education. Never a dull moment with your build. Bye until next time.
Ответить3D print something that's a circular swivel with weather stripping around it for the Pivot Point where the bolts are
Ответитьchapeau , good job
ОтветитьCould you have used c-clamps and heat it up the door
Ответить💜🌹💜
Ответитьremove the door and make it straight not the other way around... you have an excavator .. its easy
ОтветитьAwesome job guys.
