Opinions are divided on whether it's a good idea to use neutral protective filters on camera lenses. Spoiler: I think it's a good idea, if just to protect your precious lenses from damage.
In this video, I perform a few basic tests to see if any difference can be seen with and without protective filters (from B+W and Hoya).
