Set 40 Trailer for A Tribute to Keith Nichols at The Jazz Party 2011-2022

Keith Nichols was the musical brains behind countless arrangements alongside study and coordination for Whitley Bay jazz and well beyond. His other achievements include being a child actor, producing a series of play-along recordings to help musicians’ improvisation study, and his excellent diagrams for Laurie Wright’s 1987 book “King Oliver” to neatly identify who played what, when and in what key on Oliver’s records. Keith’s humour and legendary quips, sometimes at his own expense were the perfect icing on the cake for musical performances built from the ground up with his superb arrangements, leadership and musicianship. His legacy and influence will persist, and he is sorely missed.

The 2022 Jazz Party was dedicated to the memory of Keith for his many contributions to the Jazz Parties from its founding in 2011 to 2022.
