That's why he makes the big bucks.
ОтветитьGreat work. Hats off to the team and especially the Skipper 👍
ОтветитьTry to keep it more left!!!
ОтветитьWhy not “park” in the bay and use a water taxi (even a fancy one if “need be”
ОтветитьI did sometimes similar bridge passing on coaster about 80m long, only price of vessel was about 600000 $ , so was less worries 😂
ОтветитьImpressive. I was nervous.
ОтветитьProbably easier to thread a needle, let's try passing though again, this time at 20 Knots.
ОтветитьOh my i was so nervous for you lol. Great job!!
ОтветитьGreat job bro
Ответитьwhy is the price of Loon different
ОтветитьDoes the yacht have like a Z-drive, or Voith Schneider drive?
ОтветитьYou really earned your money on a day like that. Nicely done. I've been to st. Marten, my boat was 30 ft and I crossed the Atlantic with that. 😊.
ОтветитьAs a experienced master mariner driving large ferry in very tight spaces I found it unbelievable that your stabilisers still out just before entering the bridge as you said in your comms they must be half a metre each since the fan one meter each side , your briefing short of contingency
You guys are full of shenanigans 😂
Nice and tight!
ОтветитьOl' mate reckon they'll only have 2-3 eitherside of boat. As the nose floated through the bay side of bridge ol' mate radioed "Portside 1m, Starboard approx. 2m. Must be a seamans identifiable assured measurement.
ОтветитьMight sound ridiculous but would it reall stupid to make the bridge opening wider? Must be a stupid idea otherwise it would be wider by now.
ОтветитьI just love this vlog..incredible experiencing your daily life thank you
ОтветитьSome bigger yachts than Loon manoeuvers regularly through the narrow bridges of the Ringvaart, leaving De Vries (Feadship) and Royal Van Lent on their way to Rotterdam. What's the problem here? With two tugs there are no problems. Simple and it's only 1 (one) bridge.
Ответитьi need 365 degrees of protection!
ОтветитьGreat teamwork to get through that bridge. An extra ration of grog for the crew! 😊
ОтветитьSimply buy a smaller boat and pass more easy and relaxed 😂
ОтветитьGreat job! I could never do that even with a crew😂
ОтветитьBeautiful well done!
ОтветитьWe're gonna need a bigger bridge!
ОтветитьYou made that very difficult manoeuvre look so easy. That shows great skill and teamwork
ОтветитьThis is why preparation is 75% or more of the job. Of course he had all the right tools, skill, calm seas, bow and Stern thrusters, lots of eyes.
Ответитьsome real solid work there skip. well done. one day maybe ill shunt my old tin can through the hole and see how much paint i leave on there whall..🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьWhat a joke. You make it seem soooooo tight.
That overhead shot shows PLENTY of room on both sides. It's not nearly as tight as you make it seem.
Hope all the people and workers in cars waiting to get to work or go home weren't inconvenienced much by someone's $70 million dollar toy holding them up so it could pass under the bridge.
Ответить365 sourraunded by land… That means double protection on 5 degrees.
ОтветитьI was the Coxswain of a tank landing craft of the Royal Navy-when entering the dock we had 2 inches either side of the boat…..no bow thrusters.
ОтветитьCaptain that is why you make the big bucks! Awesome crew participation. Well done.
ОтветитьAwesome 👌
Ответитьwhat a stupid set up
ОтветитьAnd you get to do it all again when you leave 😂
ОтветитьYou'd have thought that tech would program for every port in the world... Humans still required for now.
ОтветитьI like they Captain is healthily nervous, it sharpens the senses and increases focus. For anything more than healthily nervous.... there's beta blockers 😂

ОтветитьSurely the sides can be protected properly, we can send stuff into space....
ОтветитьKiwi?
ОтветитьThere are so many rich people with bigger yachts and they don't pay for making a wider tunnel between the bridge so it doesn't endanger the yachts. At least that's what I would do if I had the finances. Otherwise, great job
ОтветитьExcellent job Capt Paul and crew . The owner of the Loon is very lucky to have yall
ОтветитьThe tanned fella standing there is more interested in his arms than he is this, very important talk, lol. So sad
ОтветитьI've never understood Simpson Bay Bridge. If the bridge wasn't there, you've got a robust 90' of clearance through the channel - and the maximum drive time by car without the bridge is about 10 minutes to go from one side to the other (on an island where nobody needs to get anywhere fast in the first place). Seems odd they keep the bridge when it's done millions in boat damage over the years and the bridge booth itself has been damaged a dozen times or more...
ОтветитьWhat that docking fee?
ОтветитьThat was freaking cool!!!
