The m340i is actually a pretty reliable car and for that price definitely the bmw
ОтветитьWould only make sense if the m340i is a cpo, used car that has already had most of its depreciation and a warranty. B58s are actually pretty reliable if you keep them stock
ОтветитьMaybe they aren't wrong. My friend just had his engine replaced in his tundra, not even 10k miles. All of his electronics also started bugging out, and somehow, all the buttons underneath the infotainment screen cracked in the same spot at the same time. All new cars pretty much suck and are not reliable.
ОтветитьReliable BMWs do exist.
More reliable than a Corollas do not exist.
Both are reliable especially the new BMW b58 and zf8 transmissions. Stay away from new Toyota v6
ОтветитьMy wife had a 2010 Ford Escape (hybrid). She was very meticulous about the maintenance. The Escape was finally totaled after a fender-bender (in which no fenders were actually bent) at 165k miles. At no time during the life of that car were the brake pads ever replaced. Whenever she asked about them, the mechanic said they were inspected and were deemed to be fine
ОтветитьIve put 125k miles on my 2019 Rav4 hybrid and my brakes in great condition still, probably going another 25-50k before first brake job.
ОтветитьWait! did i just actually hear Doug say "buy the corolla"? Is this a dream?
ОтветитьI would say they’re both equally reliable. However, just on opposite ends of the reliability spectrum.
ОтветитьMy brakes have kaster for over 120kkm as well and are still very good. Its not a matter of the brakes because oem theyre all very similar, this one is just down to how good you are at driving honestly
ОтветитьAs long as a car is under warranty, it’s usually reliable. The first owner always enjoys it more than the next ones.
ОтветитьI think ive figured it out 💡
A 'normal' corolla maxes out under $30k, BUT a corolla GR is around $40k+ new
So maybe hes looking at a used corolla GR! Im a toyota fan but i wouldnt bet on the reliability of a 300hp 3 cylinder over an I6. Even if we are talking toyota vs bmw
Of course i might bet on everything around the engine being more reliable but i can see this adding up for a GR.
My employee, a master tech from BMW, said he never saw an N54 or N55 fail under warranty. So either they were sent elsewhere or they were actually good engines.
ОтветитьSubb3d 👍 need exactly this lol
ОтветитьThe problem with Toyotas is they make you want them to break as they’re so unbelievably dull you want some sort of amusement.
ОтветитьDidn’t say anything abt gas or repair cost or comfort or being able to drive in bad conditions or anything bruh just “more reliable”
ОтветитьI mean, I would hands down rather have the BMW but not for their reliability 😂.
ОтветитьHis friends don’t like him!
ОтветитьA BMW is more reliable, as in it’s a more reliable source of income for the mechanics 😂😂😂
ОтветитьA used BMW may be smarter than a new Toyota. Depreciation is bad news and you can buy a LOT of maintenance with what you save by not buying new.
But few things on this Earth depreciate like new BMWs. Look at the auction history on Cars and Bids and you'll see some CRAZY Bimmers going for new-Corolla money. You can start to think about an M4. E92 M3s all day. Get one that's already had the rod bearings fixed, and your total cost of ownership may well be less than a new Corolla. But GOD WEEPS for the guys who bought all those BMWs new. Absolutely taken to the cleaners.
None will be more reliable, though. Toyota has had some misses lately, but not with Corollas, and nothing like a modern BMW.
BMW is more reliable than Lexus/toyota now they literally worked together to make the b58
ОтветитьA well maintained BMW is actually really reliable, it is actually pretty much as reliable as a slightly neglected toyota. Big problem with the bimmer tho is that everything is god damn expensive!
So buying a bimmer over a Toyota doesn't make any financial sense what so ever, but everything doesn't have to make financial sense. I bought an F11 530d, not because it is gonna save me money but because I like the look and feel of that car.
Ironically my bmw 420i 2020 has no problems and my wife’s Toyota rav4 2022 needed new chain and suspension
ОтветитьYour friend is an idiot. The long term cost to won a BMW will cost you way more than the Toyota. BMWs are reliable until the warranty expires. Then it’s all downhill from there
ОтветитьSo two guys on their laptops know better than the mechanics working on these cars daily! Before social media the less informed kept their opinions to themselves and the world was better for it.
ОтветитьI’ll have you know I rented a bmw for a 3 day business trip last month and for two of those days it never broke down!
ОтветитьHe need new friends
