And that’s why I like living in Clermont. Lots of rolling hills which makes rides interesting.

Thanks for another great video.

I live in Jacksonville. I visit my daughter often who lives in Clermont while attending college. That whole area is great for biking. Lake Apopka is especially nice.

What a cool video. Your birding is awesome. I just returned from doing the Lake Apopka Northshore drive. The bike trail gives a different perspective of Lake Apopka. It is so fun seeing all the wildlife out there. 🐦🦆👍

Good timing with the video. Just moments ago I came back from the 40.0 mile 'around the Lake' loop that you pretty much did in the video (only I start and finish at Green Mountain Overlook Park).

Just an advisory: Watch your bike at Magnolia campground. Its normally pretty good, but last year one of the riders doing the Huracan 300 bikepack race had his bike stolen while camping there overnight. Even if you are going to the rest room, take the bike with you inside. Dont leave it at your campground. I wouldnt even leave it outside the tent at night unlocked.

Chilly overnight to camp but better than summer temps in Florida. Winter Park Amtrak! Know it well. Hoping in 2025 to meet u 4 lunch. Maybe meet halfway between Orlando and Jax.

Thanks for the ride Thomas. Beautifully filmed and edited. I've riden that trail several times. One of my favorite places. I live in Ocoee so it's really close by. Thanks again.

Lake Opopka looks like a fun trail to ride. I like the shots you took with your friends. I find it easier to get shots of others than myself. It takes less time to set up. I'm glad you found your bag where you left it. Take care.

Winter Garden is beautiful but never again on the northern ride around lake Apopka. Never been so close to that many large gators in my life back in April. Well over a 100 and couldn’t wait to get the hell out of there! No place for a Midwesterner….

Thomas, thanks for leaving a route to follow. I planned and executed this same ride some months ago, including two overnights at Magnolia Park, but starting from the train station in Tampa. It's a nice way to spend a 3-day weekend. I didn't have a preplanned route, but thought I would have no issues navigating on the fly, using my Garmin as I looped the lake on the 2nd day. But for some reason, even with the Garmin Edge 1030+, I still got a bit turned around on the gravel roads in the N.W. quadrant of the lake. Being a glutton for punishment, I am coming back to do it again, but this time, armed with the route you took.

Nice ride. Cold front giving you 60 degree weather. Sounds awesome, we are in the low 30's here. Looked like you were prepared for the weather. Awesome to see the hawk. Fun meetup and nice day of riding and birding. Take care and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New year.
