As you say, solicitation in commission of a crime isn't protected speech, it is conspiracy to commit a crime. And I agree with that view.

When I think free speech, I think about a case where, say, someone tells someone else to kill themselves, and they do. This has in fact happened, and the person who said such was held accountable.

Which I consider wrong. It should not be our responsibility to second guess someone's mental capacity, the assumption is that we are all capable of looking to our best interests without a filter. I personally do sympathize with suicide victims, but in no way believe one should be held accountable for their influence over others.

My reasoning is simple; If we accept people are so incompetent or impinged, how can we seriously grant agency for voting? Or anything of importance?

Either we are all responsible for our own actions regardless of what others say or do to influence us, or we aren't. And if we aren't, Democracy can not function as intended, because we assume everyone is potentially compromised.

People arguing that Jan 6 was violent (I looked at the evidence and it was pretty weak) and argue that walking on the capitol (which is nothing new, Antifa did it few months before this) is not only unprecedented but would have actually done anything is disingenuous and dishonest.
