I believ you can have an avengers end gane climax woth smaller world building shows. The problem with a poor transmedia playbook is multifold but mets poijt oit the two main ones 1. Diluted main character syndrome. If every series is ultra important then none are important. You MUST balance the scales. The fate of the universe cant be everyones plot. 2. They cant suck. Pretty self explanatory. I was hyped as f*** for D+ shows. Comon, we all were. But then they sucked for a shit ton of reasons... identity politics, plain ol' poor writing, identity politics, dis-impassioned teams like weoters and directors or even identity politics.

These movies aren't supposed to grip you. They're not supposed to be sad, funny, scary, inspiring, they're not supposed to teach you anything. There's nothing of substance to be gained. I think the fact digital cameras have largely replaced film has played a crude yet significant role in the gradual reduction in quality of movies since around the year 2013.

All these movies have the same actors. I am a huge Borderlands fan. When I saw Kevin Heart in the trailer I just skipped the video.
I love movies but haven't watched anything in a few years now because of this nonsense. I couldn't put my finger on it but, thanks to this video I have a better understanding of what I am witnessing. ❤

The two best movies of the past decade, in my opinion, are Nobody and Willy's Wonderland.

And that certainly says something. I used to be a movie guy. I loved talking about them, watching them, analyzing them...when everyone started complaining about Crash I started noticing patterns.

To be honest, the current era of woke and slop content is great for me getting to my backlog. I've been discovering movies from the '60s and '70s and marveling at them and enjoying them. My Dad was a man who was big into cinema and films and loved them, and growing up I didn't understand why he loved "those old movies" so much. Now I do.
