A chatty one / finished sweater & lots of handspun yarn

When did you start spinning? …being involved with fibre? I learned how to spin in April, something I’ve wanted to do forever. I just love it and find the whole process magical. Thank you🐇

Love the mosaic hat definitely deserves a pattern. If you ever get time would you be able to write a recipe for the double hat in a run of the mill dk (say Stylecraft special dk). I know you say it is easy but I have to see something written down just for a rough idea it doesn’t sink in watching a podcast. Please don’t worry if you are unable to. Thank you. X

I have never knitted anything in mosaic, but I think your hat is amazing! Your mum’s jumper turned out great too. I have some Drops Sky waiting to be knitted up into one of those jumpers. I have knitted with Drops Air and enjoyed that. I think it is a heavier version of the Sky, so I’m looking forward to casting on soon, but have quite a few WIPs on the go to finish first! ❤

That mosaic hat is stunning!!! Your sweater for your mom is beautiful! I watch Anniina also and just adore her. Such an amazing designer! I will look for the others you have mentioned. We now live in Arkansas out in the middle of nowhere and having come from Oregon where we could do as you said just call someone up and say “hey we are heading to dinner close to your house want to join us?” We also were the ones in our group who liked to throw parties and usually had a house full for Taco Tuesday’s. We now know no one and it gets lonely out here. Thank you so much for your vlogs, Ivana. 🌻

So I have a question for people, and I'm sorry that I'm using your comment section.
What is your opinion about not buying patterns you can "reconstruct". Like I am not a pro-knitter, but I have a good eye for construction. I don't do it for actual garments like sweaters or cardigans. But accessories like scarves, mittens, hats I can usually reconstruct just by looking at them. Maybe I'm not getting 100% accurate every time, but close enough. Usually I'm buying the pattern anyway, out of respect for the designer's work. However, sometimes I'm also wondering if it would be ok to not do that and just use the pattern pictures as inspiration. Also I of course only knit for myself... not for sale or any commercialization.
What do you guys think?

I agree with you , I love spontaneity. I really like this mosaîc hat, please, please publish the pattern. Ivana, your hand spun is simply wonderful !!! I don't spin myself, but I have eard other spinners steam their yarn when it it too compressed to spin easily, it relaxes the fibers and spinners say it helps.

Vlogtober was really interesting, as are all your vlogs. I have knitted myself a double layered hat from left over yarn and it did get worn on holiday although it still needs blocking. Your mosaic hat looks lovely. You help inspire with your enthusiasm. Thank you
