As for equipment, l live in Florida....sandy beach shin deep to knee deep water, and a weighted pack lifted up and down, side to side. Find a tall parking garage and climb the stairs, up and down, and increase laps once a week.
Ответить!!!Thanks for this video!!! Watched yesterday and started what I need to do today. Your motivation here is spot on! Glad I am not starting from scratch but really need a 'basic daily' to improve and maintain. Did gentle stretching which has relieved a load of tension - feels like I've been carrying the weight of the world around in tension and now that has shifted. Its fantastic what a little of the right exercise can do. Thanks for the motivation for me to get back to what I need to do.
ОтветитьWhen I lived in Brooklyn NY, moved there from Pa, (idk why)(well a female that's why) I used milk jugs filled with water. When I exhausted those, I would duct tape 20 oz water bottles around them, and you'd be insanely surprised what that can do mixed with some basic push ups etc
ОтветитьI went to school for KIN, but I know one of the most important parts first and foremost here is mental fortitude. I had a, lets call it a brain reset, a couple years ago. I was saved and totally changed my life around. And I know some people are going to be like "yeah yeah yeah, here we go", but it's something. If people don't live for a higher power, a bigger purpose, and have mental fortitude, you're not going to live. And, all the other stuff is just a wash.
ОтветитьFitness has to be individualized in its execution. Some people can't lift weights, or do HIIT. If we are only discussing fitness, it is best to see a doctor and then a personal trainer and develop a personalized attack plan. Once the plan is established, ensure it revolves around prepper type duties.

Ответить0 Fitness is a tough one and also a slow one. I have joined a gym, at age 51, as i don't live in an area where it is safe to be out on the streets alone. I had both hips replaced and then decided I needed to lose some weight and get fitter. I joined the gym after losing 10% of my body weight. When I started I barely managed 5 minutes on a bicycle. 6 months later I do 40-50 minutes on the bicycle, 10 minutes of skiing, some free weights, some uphill walking on a treadmill, and general calisthenics. A bit of weight machines but not much as I don't think they give general strength but rather strength to simply use those machines. Using my body weight for resistance and my core to stabilize me gives a better workout.
ОтветитьWhen i was 35, I had a bunch of work done to my knee, and i am and was in good shape. With 6 weeks of post surgical recovery, I said to people that i finally understood why old people get so grumpy, immobility is a debilitating bitch.

I’m an older woman that unfortunately has a sedentary job, although it’s good paying it’s not necessarily a “good job” for me, if ya know what I mean.
All that being said, finding the energy and motivation are the main factors I struggle with in regards to “exercising”. Other than being a bit overweight,
I am healthy with no issues or pharmaceuticals. I live an all natural holistic lifestyle.
Do you know of any good ways to get motivated or regain the energy I once had?

Don't eat before you go to bed

Being able to get in shape quickly is another skill of the prepared, as in knowing the tools you have, and your own body and it's capabilities are a tool, or a hinderance. Staying in shape 12 months a year is hard, give yourself a month or so off occasionally, every good athlete knows this about training.

ОтветитьVery true information, too many people who are way over weight and never workout just imagine when the time comes they'll make it happen, no you actually won't.
ОтветитьPeople talk about conditioning all the time but there's different type of conditioning and exercise so for some people maybe some weight training will be necessary to put on muscle so they can pull themselves up or push themselves up off the ground or to lift things and then for other people they just need exercise to remain Slim and then there's cardio but you might be a good walker or you might train to be a runner or maybe you use cardio to help boost your endurance

ОтветитьI now have a new level of respect. Going to clean up all the stuff piled up around my weight machine and treadmill. Have laid off for the last three years, since my stroke. Recovery has been an extreme struggle, fatigue kicks in quickly. Five minutes may be all I can do, but its a start.
ОтветитьFor SOME people the reason they spend orders of magnitude more money on guns than food (or other categories of prepping for that matter) is fun. Sure.
BUT, let's just address the ol' elephant on that one, shall we?
The real reason so many people are prioritizing the acquisition of guns and ammo by the truck load (as well as combat training, combat trainng and more combat training) is because they all know the same terrible thing:
WHEN THE $#!T DOES HIT THE FAN ONCE AND FOR ALL, THERE WILL BE UNTOLD LOOTING, RIOTING AND ALL OTHER MANNER OF ANARCHAL CHAOS THE LIKES OF WHICH HUMAN HISTORY HAS NEVER RECORDED BEFORE THE 1940'S IN EUROPE.
WE ALL KNOW THAT WHEN CIVILIZATION TAKES ITS FINAL FLUSH, THE ONLY THING ANYONE WILL BE DOING EN MASSE IS FIGHTING EACH OTHER TO THE LITERAL DEATH.
And take your pick as to why, but ALL of those reasons will be scenarios borne of what in the SHTF times to come will be the total and permanent disappearance of law & order everywhere. NO ONE will have any more fear of being arrested for doing anything that was once called "illegal." And so, preppers who were just trying to make their own homes and survive it will ALL be targets of looters, marauders, etc.
But they won't be the only ones that someone out there will be looking to attack and wipe out or commit some measure of violence on, because looting and rioting won't be the only thing going on;
No one but me seems to be openly acknowledging that there will be a literal and entirely unhindered PURGE era starting up. Do you really think there won't be every Tom Dick & Harry taking to the streets to seek revenge on their overbearing bosses, their controlling wives, their late mail men, their corrupt cops, their pushy salemen, their so on and so on!?
GET REAL!
Everyone who ever fantasized about avenging themselves against everyone who ever so much as mildly annoyed them-- let alone stopped them from getting their entitled selfish way... this WILL be what's really going on here when SHTF gives them all free reign to start waging their endless bee hive of private little revenge-versus-counter-revenge wars on each other, for every little reason if not just for open thrill seaking.
Not to mention of course, the total free reign every local gang will have to make their former local street turf wars become literal post-apocalyptic battlefield wars that will usually include forcing any bystanders into it just due to being somewhere in the periphery. And those will become the new Negans and Mad Max empires to rule what remains of the post-apocalyptic world's few dwinglding populations and resources.
But it will still get even darker than that;
Cartels will do their thing out in the open, as will human traffickers.
And do you honestly believe they won't get even more openly and genocidally punitive on anyone who tries to stand up to them when there're no cops or military left to fight them? KEEP DREAMIN,' buddy!
But as if all the above was not enough, now we come to the darkest of it all that'll descend upon us once that world is finally here;
Serial k**lers with no fear of cops.
Not only will ALL of them come out of the wood work to finally do their thing in the open without end, to levels of escalation never before dreamed of (by them, I mean), but there already is an uncountable army of them hiding in the shadows everywhere just salivating at the thought of that day, and I do mean EVERY-where!
And I'm not just talking about the maddened homeless guy on a shooting rampage about his failed life after he finds that 1 in a million rusty .38 snub nose pistol someone else threw in a trash can one day.
NO, I'm talking about the long-time hardcores who're on a whole other level here. I'm talking about the modern day Jack the Rippers and H.H. Holmes and Ted Bundy types, the darkly creepy weird ones whose whole frame of thinking even the most experienced criminal psychologist can barely make sense of-- the ones in the category that even modern thriller movies fail to do justice in their depictions of.
You think you're not gonna need to be ready to fight a seemingly self-replenishing clone army of these freakos everywhere you go, potentially FOREVER?? Think again, people!
And it ain't just that they'll be out in the open at long last, either.
Once they are, the total and permanent shedding of any fear of no longer existant law enforcement everywhere will cause these next-level monsters to escalate their M/O's beyond nightmare, beyond description and beyond human understanding. And worse, there'll be so many of them everywhere that two things will happen between the droves of them:
1) In some cases, they'll start having rivalries and literal contests over who can get the highest body count in the shortest time, using the most grotesquely, brutally evil k**ling methods their twisted inhuman psyhces can invent.
In other cases, just as horrifically, others will actually join forces in ways that blend their undefinably bizarre M/O dynamics into one that becomes even more outlandish and even more brutal & dangerous with the same results.
Actually you know what, both of the above will then then lead to:
3) this will happen to such a dergree that entire apocalypse towns will be populated entirely by what will have become steadily growing literal armies of these sub-human beasts. And their communities' founding missions statements will be to simply do unhindered mass serial k**ling with joy as if it were a thing there needed to be a liberation movement to pave the way for, the way the Revolutionary War paved the way for Constitutional American liberties and rights.
And so, while some of you YT channels are dogging people who spend a dwarfing amount of money on firepower and combat training over food stockpiles, you're ignoring that the reason a lot of them are doing it is because they see coming everything I just described. And in that foresight, they realize that NOTHING ELSE CAN EVER BE ACHIEVED WITHOUT AT LEAST THE MOST RUDAMENTARY EFFORTS TO SELF-DEFEND AGAINST ALL THE COMING INSANITY IN QUESTION. In the real post-apocalyptic world, everyone everywhere will want to seek out and k**l everyone everywhere and destroy everything everywhere for every reason and no reason all at once.
And, just as the zombies of the Walking Dead world were an endlessly unmitigatable problem that constantly intgerfered with survivors' ability to every achieve or rebuild anything anywhere, all this SHTF violce-chaos will have the same effect everywhere with no end in sight. So, while a few people in the local SHTF survivor camp or recently claimed former modern ghost town may find a few measly minutes to try to build a garden on a rooftop somewhere, the larger droves of that apocalypse-town's population will be too busy fighting, defending, repelling invasions, and so on to EVER have so much as a free moment to even TRY to accomplish anything else.
THEY KNOW there's an unimaginable fight coming no matter how you slice it, and that fight is gonna be all that matters for quite some time whether anyone wants to face it or not. Therefore, ever present is the need to make the very hardest effort to at least ATTEMPT to have so much as a simblance of a fighting chance to survive all that human chaos when it comes upon us all--which it soon will.
Why am I the ONLY PERSON, WHETHER POSTING ON A YT CHANNEL OR COMMENTING ON SAID POSTS, who ever seems to mention the truly genuinely hellish dark depths to which this whole thing will descend?
At least a steadily growing mass of people out there know to be as prepared for it as every spare cent they can scrimp out to spend will make possible for them. And they know that means money spent on weapons weapons weapons, and combat training combat training combat training. Because no matter what a lot of people just don't wanna talk about, that world will be one where everyone is gonna have to FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT,
...ALL...
...THE...
...TIME!!!

ОтветитьWhat no one (but me) communicates is: fit to what ? Counterintuitively, there IS NO "I'm fit." or "You need to be fit." without figuring out what metrics/standards/goals you wish to achieve. This is a GOOD problem to have, because you can start small.
Look, most people are not going to want to get Navy Seal BUD/S graduate fit or look like Arnold in the The Terminator . But, if you can't get out of your car in 10 seconds without coughing up a cigarette and cheeseburger, well, there's a goal to strive for. Something IS better than nothing.
Some people, myself included have an incurable disease that makes excerise difficult, or impossible for some. I can move around, shoot etc but excerise is difficult. I'm trying to be prepared for shtf or whatever can happen, physically I will do the best I can, if I don't make it at least I tried. There are others like me, we know it will be difficult, but we don't need almost every video to say your going to die, be supportive.

Ответитьjason all I have to say is to look up radishes and their benefits now you can make them into powder by blinding them but you can bring that along with you when your on the move just look it up and it might help give you more time in your day by boosting you energy level but some days are harder to get moving but you have to get up

Salsa Dancing is seriously the BEST form of cardio one can do.
And it never feels like "working out"
At 67 I am not looking forward to my decrepit older years. I'm rucking two and a half to three miles a day with the dog. Since retiring we are coming close to 3,500 miles in four years. The pack is 20-27 pounds. Then there is clearing snow, working in the garden, some landscaping, the compost pile, the wood pile. I'm averaging an hour and a half of exercise a day at 67. My training partner for the daily rucks is an eighty five pound dog. Tracking is in excel. I've got the typical injuries of a guy, the torn rotator cuff, the hockey knee that clicks sometimes, some sciatica, the history of five or six concussions. But i refuse to sit in the chair all day.
The membership that the wife and I have are to the local shooting range for a combined sixty bucks a year for nearly unlimited range time.
The garden, 1,700 square feet, includes 20 vegetables, 20 herbs, then there's the 14 fruit trees, the grape vine and the 20 berry bushes. I assist my wife in canning, fermenting, pickling, dehydrating and cold storage of the fruits and veggies.
Other stuff, Christian, engineer, amateur musician, tinkerer, artist, also studied history and sociology. I do not see the fall of America as a sudden thing, I see it as a slow creeping thing. I see the fall as something that happens to all the great societies, great countries, great empires. I am prepping mostly for the shortages that will happen at the same time as the natural disasters. Things that used to be an easy rebound, but now are hard as the economics and transportation get complicated and chaotic.
If you will excuse my I've got to get back to the reloading room. I've got 470 9mm Luger that are needing powder measured in.
With what's about to hit ...

As a certified personal trainer, I cannot stress the importance of strength training and mobility work ESPECIALLY as we age. Those two things are so powerful when it comes to overall health, reducing the chances of falling, injuries, and surgeries.

I know from growing up on a large working farm/ranch that all around fitness just from work can be achieved. Both my grandfather and great grandfather never visited a gym and very rarely needed a doctor, but when I would come home to visit my grandfather then in his 60's could out work me. It was embarrassing , thank you again, I'll take it as motivation 👍
