The beginning of the video reminded me of the Mueller neighborhoods in Austin, TX. Hope they make some better decisions on the open areas that are still going to be developed. More protected areas for people NOT in cars.

I heard complaints about car protected door lanes, since someone could still open a door without looking. I think they're a huge improvement on standard door lanes, because you can run on the side of the lane away from doors without being closer to car traffic, and because very few of the cars have a passenger, so the odds of there being anyone to open a door is minimal.
Did I get lost there?
An adequate design isn't ideal, but it's a lot better than actually bad design.
