If a car has this, hopefully it can unlock and start up as long as the phones in your pocket. Let’s make key fobs extinct too. How many times I head out and I have to go back in the house because I forgot my keys. I always have my phone on me though.

They should improve on the lists. With wider screens they could make it more of a grid with maybe 2 columns instead of 1 with abnormally long stretched out bars.

I hope GM sees this... and more like it. I recently bought a new Expedition because it was CarPlay-compatible, and I have owned a GM car for years now, as my relatives work for GM. I am not going to be "forced out" of my Apple ecosystem by my vehicle.

Thank you for addressing the biggest issue. Car companies will never be good at software as software companies. It sounds so obvious but car companies can be so stubborn.

Yes. CarPlay Ultra would be a question I ask when looking for my next car. Unfortunately, I recently leased a 2025 Subaru Outback Limited and am locked in until 2/28. Subaru is updating their models and info centers in next years models, so anyone’s guess at this late date if they will stay with their own which might seem the case. Thanks. Nice video update.

I see both sides of it. If I'm building the hardware, I want full control of the software to create the best experience for the user... but if you don't invest in a UX team, it will fail. Car manufacturers - you either need to make the proper investments into UX, or leave it to the king of UX... Apple. Otherwise you will fall behind.

Not interested in upgrading my $80K vehicle to support a new version of CarPlay. People need to stop chasing technology. It is just extending your potential retirement date.

BMW’s system is so damn bad! Feels like I am going back to the early 2000s each time I get into my car before I quickly switch to Apple CarPlay. They have spent so much money, time, and effort into their system and it is still so bad! They desperately need CarPlay Ultra!

In my recent research into purchasing an EV, I ruled out all manufactuers iincluding GM and Tesla who doesn't offer Apple Car Play.
