You can't "negotiate" with an administration that changes their mind every four years. Any agreements are only temporary and this uncertainty will eventually erase any hope of economical recovery. Because nobody knows if the next US admin will again change the goal post.

The US bans the sale of high end semiconductors that the U.S. doesn’t even make going to China and that’s supposed to be completely fine. China bans the sale of rare earth materials that are made in China to the U.S. and the U.S. cries foul.

Ha might it be that Xi is no longer driving China's direction, I hope so and the next step will be to rid the world of trump and then we might be able to get back to normalcy, I sincerely hope so. Nobody's perfect (e.g. Mao), but given the history I know, the Chinese (AS A GENERAL RULE) try to carry themselves with nobility (e.g. Deng Xiaoping). And I appreciate the effort the best way I know how.😎👌

Simple solution: the amount of export tariffs on rare earth minerals should match (or be slightly higher then) the amount of import tariffs levied by the USA.. Fair and square deal :-)
