I have tended to look at “Anti-Christ” as “anti-truth.” Simply knowing the truth and purposefully rebelling against it. And I would suggest that at every level, we should not sacrifice what we know is right for the sake of our own will or selfish ambition. This encompasses all people to the degree of their own knowledge and understanding of truth, until they are hardened from truth and love the lie more.

I really disagree about the temple rites being dumbed down. They are simplified so they are not confusing. Easier for everyone no matter how smart can understand. It is not hard to see that there are people in the church who have found a new god and it is not God. Given the choice, they pick their false god. It is very sad to see.

So is it bad for individuals who have different styles of garments? For instance, military or first responders have different style of garment tops to help them blend in with their work so they don't get mocked?

Every time I look closely at the Second Coming and signs of the times, I conclude, "Nope, not yet!"

I thought Gog and Magog took place after the Millennium and Satan is unbound. Revelation 20:8. When Michael would again led the host of heavens against Satan.

I am not sure that the changes in the temple were made because the members rejected certain things. I think one consideration in removing some things is that Satan has borrowed and twisted some of the symbols and rituals to the point where we needed to quit using them.

I have interpreted the Mark of the Beast as being mostly a metaphorical thing, rejecting God and letting the world/Babylon guide thought and actions. This doesn't mean a literal mark might not occur, though. Never know if someone might create some dystopian system that evokes that imagery. Alternatively, we might not recognize it until later, since some things are like that.

Revelation and a lot of biblical scripture is very symbolic. Revelation 17 there is some explanation of what the physical attributes of the beast symbolically represent. "The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth." "the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings..." "The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues."

The 3.5 years may be the time and season before the coming of Christ first coming and the period after his resurrection. Joseph interpretation of pharaohs vision of 7 fat kine and followed by 7 thine kine. I think the kine represent the days during the creation and the time period or 7 dispensation after the fall. The 3.5 years being the meridian of time when Christ was born. 3.5 years the time until his coming.

There are several things going on currently that match a mark of the beast. The World Economic Forum and people like Musk have said that cell phones will be obsolete and that the technology will be under the skin. That is verifiable in a few minutes for anyone. There is also a plan from a globalist organization called the Club of Rome which has a plan from 1972 which has the world divided into 10 kingdoms, and a lot of what is going on today matches up with the map which is easily found online. The WEF has also said we will own nothing and be happy, and we will have a universal basic income. These are all currently being planned and align with prophecy. Maybe these people know how to read the Bible as well and are trying to bring forth what was foretold or they are the powers that will lead a cashless society that matches scripture.

The coming deception will deceive even the elect if we aren't using the Holy Ghost to discern, guide and comfort. It will be that difficult. We should be receiving revelation daily by following the prophet's counsel to focus on Virtue, Charity and staying close to our Covenants by being a temple-going people. We've got this!!

The abomination of desolation will be when Trump sits down in the Third Temple in Jerusalem and declares himself to be God. In ancient Babylon there were 36 pagan gods, adding the numbers 1 through 36 equals 666. This was Baal's number, as it was said, "In Baal, all gods are one." Gold is associated with the worship of Baal, this is why Solomon is said to have had 666 talents of gold, indicating idolatry. It's interesting that the president has decorated the White House in gold, one of the many ways he resembles the Biblical Antichrist.

It seems to me that changes to temple practices happen after misunderstandings from some women in the church murmur about feeling diminished or disrespected, or some such nonsense. I agree with Bruce Porter that the ordinances are diminished to appease the agitated.

The covenant of the sacrament is spoken is scripture. No where is the "covenant of the garment" mentioned in the scriptures. Not in the Bible, not in the Book of Mormon, not in the D&C. Joseph and Hyrium Smith died without wearing anything we call the garment. No other break off church from the original church when Joseph smith died wear the garments. Brigham Young altered the temple covenants and brought in the wicked masonic symbols into the Temple. It offended God greatly when the ancient israelites altered the temple worship by mixing the worship of neighboring pagan beliefs. This corruption of temple worship offends God now just as much as it did anciently. Thankfully Isaiah 1 teaches that we can be forgiven of this sin. As he speaks about this sin in Isaiah 1, he then says though your sins be as Scarlett they shall be white as snow. Let us turn back to true principles taught directly in the scriptures that our souls may live. Bless you all

Revelation 13:3-9. You want to talk about even the very elect being deceived? The anti-Christ is not just an idea. Go to the temple. Try and go weekly for a single month. Then your eyes will be open to the fact that so many have been worshipping a false savior who promises to restore us to supremacy. It’s like the Prophet has said: “ to whom, or to what will you give your life?”

I don’t believe the changes in the temple is because of sin or rejection of the gospel by members of the church.

I think it more about a continuing progression as we become willing to receive great light and knowledge.

The Lord’s kingdom is moving forwards not backwards.

I also believe, or have opinion that the Anti-Christ is a philosophy, not a person. And the description of the terminal wound it receives before it is resuscitated sounds familiar to events that took place in the early 1990s. Granted, not every place where that philosophy was has dropped it, so I suppose it did not suffer such a fatal blow after all, but the largest practitioner (by land size, not population) of the philosophy did cease to exist. It is interesting to speculate.

I was endowed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1971, and I know the penalties and the length of time it took to go through the entire Temple service for one person. The Temple service now feels streamlined but, it also allows the endowment to progress much faster so that more can be done in for one name in today's Temple service. The garment modification is so much more comfortable outside in the heat of the day.💌

It's obvious to me that the men of the church were not treating their wives with the love and respect they deserve. So God has to spell it out so there is no confusion, that we preside with gentleness meekness and love unfeigned, can't remember it all, but it is necessary that we do these things or heaven can't be experienced.
Then around COVID 19 words changed in the endowment talking of Satan destroying the agency of man. What happened during COVID we were all locked down told what we could and could not do, they tried to force experimental vaccines on us that was more dangerous than COVID itself. When in reality there was no danger. I personally think it was a test to see how we would respond if they tried to control us. Destruction of agency Moses 4 so who's running our government? Satanic forces?
Are we being told something?
Also it's a shield and a protection against the power of the destroyer. If we loose that protection Satan can destroy us through lies and deception. Do you think that's the reason we are a church divided?
If you take the number 7 it's meaning is complete or whole so 6 is one short of 7 we say we have the truth if we live it we are complete and whole. Other Christian religions are lacking a fullness of truth therefore falling short of the mark. This happens because of being deceived by Satan or the beast. Just an alternative view not saying it's the reason.

Jesus warned that "wrath" was coming in the 1st century.
The Wrath (judgment) and resurrection, and banquet would all be events happening at the same time.
And I would be the only future event Jesus spoke of...it appears that the entirety of Christianity is under the same delusion today.

Israel has not yet returned to their lands in the Middle East. Everything north of Jerusalem belongs to Ephraim, the Christ-believing Latter Day Saints who lead the new covenant. Judah does not. The people there now have nothing to do with Israel.

1 John says very clearly that the antichrist are those who reject the living Jesus Christ. That means that the Jews qualify as the antichrist. He also says the antichrist has been here since the Resurrection. So to those who are still waiting for a specific "antichrist" to come, are already deceived.

I see the Temple as where we can be closest to God. I don’t think any of the changes in the Temple to appease us. The Temple is too sacred for that to happen.

Good video. I noted Bro. Porters slight hesitation when you mentioned a 7 year tribulation. There's good reason for that, because there is NO 7 year tribulation period mentioned in the Bible that is not associated to an Evangelical Eschatological misinterpretation on Daniel 9:24-27, particularly verse 27.
Daniel gave the prophecy after prayer concerning the imminent return of Judah to Jerusalem and the temple. He was given what is called the 70 week prophecy and a time-line for that which began with Artaxerxes decree to given about 454BC to Ezra, recorded in Ezra 7, that would run through the mortal ministry of Christ and then the inauguration of transmission of the "covenant" gospel to the Gentiles with Peter's vision and Paul's conversation and ministry. The sign the Messiah had been there would be what Christ prophesied: the absolute destruction of the temple.
The misinterpretation comes in verse 27 where Evangelical eschatology inserts a human"Antichrist" into the verse as the "he" making a covenant when it should be Messiah renewing the covenant with Israel during his mortal ministry which is "cut off" half way through the last week.
The pronoun "he" requires a contextual antecedent. The only male - singular possible candidate is Messiah mentioned in the prior verse.
So here's the deception: Evangelicals (because most other Christians don't see it that way) are looking for a year tribulation period where peace treaty allows the Antichrist and company to rebuilt the temple, then he can defile it half way through and proclaim himself God and if you don't worship him, he cuts off your head, a very Muslim thing to do so the Antichrist must be Muslim, according to some. But never fear! If Y'all support my ministry, Y'all get RAPTURED out when Jesus does his fly-by! And there is a segment of LDS members who have bought into some or all of that, and they will be deceived.
What's the answer? Build your Eschatology around what real prophets have taught, like J.S.Matthew, D&C 29, 33, 45, and other sections, and the teachings of the living prophets today.

I want to add some caution to this discussion of the changes in the temple that they are inspired of God to hasten his work rather than because of our lack of worthiness. I don’t believe the Lord makes changes in the temple for reasons of our simple desires to Not live up to a higher law. These changes are because we are in the last days and his work is moving in a faster pace across the Earth!

I wonder if the beast talked about in revelation is a future version or state of the united nations and the anti christ is the ideals that drive it.

It is beyond me how that so many seemingly intelligent and well meaning YT prophesy experts, blatantly deny the historic evidence of these 2000 years of tribulation and persecution and immeasurable suffering, that the multiplied millions of believers and jewish people have endured, and instead propagate the erroneous notion that there is yet to come a seven year tribulation that is so much worse. As well you deny the clear and plain teaching in scripture that tells of the rapture coming after the tribulation. Seriously, what is wrong with you people? If the future seven year tribulation is true, please show me the NT scriptures where it specifically defines those seven years. You cannot, because it does not exist.

I love Bruce Porters energy! He’s not boasting of his knowledge or trying to tear down anyone’s beliefs. He is quietly stating his beliefs in a way that makes so much sense to me. I love this style of teaching/learning!

I agree with the idea of antichrist both personal and institutional. I think by the end of times we will see people so unabashedly empowered by Satan and emboldened in his cause, that we will say, “Surely this is THE antichrist”.

Antichrist: Its more likely to be all the above, and we should think of it as all of the above. Its likely a person, its likely many persons, and just as likely the philosophy that powers them.
