In the Philippines, ALL gas stations have attendants. Probably because labor is cheap here and because the tech is not available for us to pay with a card in a self-service machine :) Gas stations don’t want to invest in that tech because oil prices are high since we import all our oil.

Oh the early internet days! My time was consumed by this online pet game called Neopets and I absolutely loved it! It’s actually how I got to learning design, coding, etc and it’s what started me on this whole Internet / online biz thing. I remember the days where I would code profile pages for your Neopet for $20 HAHAHA

I'm new to you guys but just wanted to say that I totally resonate with both of your childhoods, and I swear I am a blend of the two of you! I was also very "arty" as a kid, but swiftly learned that being an artist wasn't a "real" job, and therefore gravitated towards web design and computer programming and eventually made a career from that and that was deemed more acceptable.

I actually taught myself the basics of HTML and CSS when tinkering with my MySpace page (ha, that might give you a hint on my age!) and it all blossomed from there. I remember everyone asking me how I did it, and I was just like "I dunno, I just figured it out".

Definitely an over-achiever and perfectionist due to my background, and I actually made it my life's purpose to not be like my Mum (meant in the nicest way possible) and not get caught out with money struggles. I guess that led me to being a constant success chaser.

I'm now at a stage where I am a creative lead for a great company, but also wanting to re-connect with my childhood roots and pick up my more "free" artistic side. I've launched a few colouring books, and blended the nostalgic feeling or drawing with my digital world by doing all of my illustrations using my iPad. It's amazing. My two worlds have combined and I couldn't be more grateful for my path that led me here.

Anyway, rambling...great episode. I hope to one day do my own thing full-time, and will watch out for your next episodes (yep, subscribed!). Great job you two <3

It was Macromedia Dreamweaver. It's the second software I learned, after Flash (bought by Adobe eventually)! 😂😊
