West Midlands Metro: Dudley and Great Bridge on Sunday 11th August 2024

On Sunday 11th August 2024, we visited Dudley and Great Bridge to update ourselves on the work carried out since our last visit on the Black Country Valley extension to the West Midlands Metro.

In Dudley, there is now continuous track laid from Flood Street to the bottom of the hill close to the Very Light Vehicle Innovation Centre and the Black Country Living Museum.

We travelled along Birmingham New Road and under the New Hanson's Bridge before having a look at the work at Great Bridge tram stop where the new steps resembling a modern swimming pool diving tower and locally nicknamed "Great Bridge Stonehenge" is almost complete.
