Rails Chicago Series #65- Griffith, IN (7/13/13)

This was my first-ever visit to Griffith and while it's a good location I wish it was a little busier. All trains tin this video were shot between 11:30am-3:30pm CST:

1. CN 5425 (SD60) & 5600 (SD70I)- Westbound intermodal enters the Elsdon Sub to Chicago.

2. CN 5548 (SD60F), 2657 & 2566 (C44-9W's)- A covered wagon leads an eastbound manifest onto the South Bend Sub as a NS train waits for clearance onto the Matteson Sub to Kirk Yard in the distance.

3. NS 8313 (C40-8) & 6720 (SD60I)- Had to head over to the Miller Street grade crossing to catch this train using the Kirk Yard Wye off the South Bend Sub.

4. CN 2151 (C40-8W), 8896, 8880 (SD70M's) & 2166 (C40-8W)- An eastbound manifest switches off the Elsdon Sub to head north on the Matteson Sub to Kirk Yard.

5. CN 2514 (C44-9WL) & 5672 (SD75I)- Herzog train from Kirk Yard heads west on the Matteson Sub.

6. CSX 8404 (SD40-2)- This is normally a quiet zone but the horn is blasting because of some stupid kids running across the tracks. This was another movement bound for Kirk Yard.

7. CN 2123 (C40-8) & 5619 (SD70I)- Westbound manifest comes off the South Bend Sub to the Matteson Sub to Joliet.

8. CN 5675 & 5711 (SD75I's)- Eastbound freight heads straight through on the Matteson Sub to Kirk Yard.
