Detroit Engine (DD13, DD15, DD16, Series 60) - is it a good engine for you? #shorts

I love DD16 engine !

On DD13’s and DD15’s you know the engine is operating when the yellow warning light is illuminated on the dashboard !

I love my pre emission 14L 2050 torque 600 ponies 18 speed and it pulls like there's no tomorrow

My 2014 DD15 great engine just the DPF is a nightmare & hassle had more problems & issues than anything since I got it.

New DD are junk compared to the old Series 60 engines!!

New dd engines are junk

53, 71 & 92 series were my fav's. Series 60, 12.7L was a good motor. Dont know fuckall about a DD series.

I strictly service a fleet of 40 2019 Freightliner cascadia with the DD15 engine. I must say I agree with everything he said. Common failure points but overall an okay at best choice.

I'm not sure what to think? I see many DD with bearing issues loss of oil pressure, resulting in a rod through the block. Plastic coolant lines that fail. Belt tensioner issues. I know every engine has issues. But seem to see more tows with DD engines. Or maybe there are more DD engines on the road?

are there interchangeable parts from dd13 to a dd15? i dont know personally but if it's the same platform, same block, is the oil pan the same? the oil pickup tube, i've always had trouble finding parts for dd13s

I absolutely hate those air and electrical lines on that truck, I've had them on trucks I've had before and they are a nightmare to keep straight

DD’s are junk. I’m Cummins biased but they’re sub par and over engineered. Doing a Hole right now, wrist pin bushings keep falling apart from over fueling injectors and pre detonation

The ole 60 Detroits were pretty good. I'm a cummins guy, but do like ole Detroits
