Comic Books have been woke since 1938. Comic Book have been doing since 1938. Mr Arroz your comics are generic crap.
ОтветитьMr Arroz please seek counselling for your overdrawn superiority complex
ОтветитьMarvel and DC want you dead? Dayummmmmmmmnnnnnn
ОтветитьFortunately my LCS was busy this morning, with plenty of FCBD comics, local creators making appearances, and a good sale. I picked up the small number of FCBD issues that interested me and some Our Army at War/Sgt Rock back issues.
ОтветитьI can see soon that Comic shop businesses will soon only do pre-order stuff on line-no physical stores,(saving rent & on staff)& just run their business from home.😭😭
ОтветитьMarxists destroy heroes.
ОтветитьI went to two comic book shops today and they were both packed. The second store I went to told me they had a line wrapping around the building when they opened. Lots of people buying stuff too. Comic books & shops seem to be alive and well.
ОтветитьGive me free manga day. I dropped comics years ago. Never going back lol.
ОтветитьManga will eat them all for breakfast and still have room for seconds...
ОтветитьWhenever A real estate company shuts down A place in A mall that I like in favor of something I don't like, I no longer support that mall. Having said that, this doesn't mean I'm letting DC, and Marvel off the hook. They did this to themselves, and until they change their ways, I'll be buying back issues, or comics from indie publishers.
ОтветитьWent to 3 comic shops for FCBD. The 1st, my LCS (Dave & Adam's) up until a year ago, doesn't carry comics anymore - none. The 2nd store was my first and last time as they no longer carry comics, either. Owner said last year was a bad year. 3rd had comics, but very few new comics (hardly any FCBD books), said cost of books is driving buyers away from new books. Your video checks out.
ОтветитьWhen I see those picture of comic book owner, kinda remind me of Jay Garrick, the original Flash.
I am sure, he is a nice person, even if I never meet him in person.
I got lucky that one of the free comics is Initial D.
ОтветитьIt might save the comic book industry if someone would Lerner how to flipping DRAW!!
ОтветитьThe biggest problem is politics. It has bled into hobbies and interests. As a Kid, I love movies, tv shows, comics, and graphic novels. I could read them and enjoy them without having a single hint of politics. Now, I cant even open my eyes, without fucking identity politics and left wing, right wing media outlets, telling me what i can and cannot like because someone out there is offended. I am 25. I should be enjoying the universes and galaxies that take me away from the dumb gender identities that plague and infect everything.
ОтветитьMore than likely... the Malls that are not renewing the lease on these comic book shops might themselves be gone in a few years. Some of the Malls in my city have shut down and the property being made to house condos. Most people would rather buy on-line than go down to the Mall today.
ОтветитьFair to say comics didn’t just die off. When writers say things like “if you don’t like my politics then don’t buy my book, problem solved”. …Well! 🤷😒
ОтветитьOhio had lots of great FCBD involvement from both stores and the fans. I personally thought this was the best selection since the 2020 downturn. My brother and rest of my family really liked this years selection as well. The general feeling at both my local shops was much more exciting than the last few years. I think people were ready to get back to "normal" and this years books seemed to indicate just that. I felt like 2 years ago it seemed like the death of FCBD and somewhat last year but I didn't get that vibe at all this year. As for the death of comics that is a whole different issue.
ОтветитьAlthough my pull list is drastically reduced, I still support my local comic book store, get on really well with the people in there so go as often as I can. But I've disliked Free Comic Book Day for years and avoid the store when it's on.
I support the idea, and the retailers, but its so busy on that day and takes so long to get round the shop, for what are mostly just bad comics, I really can't be bothered with it.
In the age of print mecua dying its very last.
Giving away a pile of substandard comics neved made sense to me.
Id give away digital gift codes for where you can view them online.
Where you can find sale codes for comic books.
But yeah. FCD us very poorly executed these days and is probably a massive loss leader.
I seen tons of people buying them and look at that. Marvel did learn.
ОтветитьIt wasn’t as good as previous years. It’s so disappointing.
ОтветитьFree comic book day is dead at my local shop.
They sit on the shelf for a month before the owner just bundles them in as a 'bonus' with purchase of any book.
That said, in the last 5 years, the shop went from 90% of its sales space for comics to about 20%. The rest of the space is games and manga.
Manga is out selling U.S. comics by a large margin the shop, that the owner is expanding that section qgain.
ahh man i was at zapp comics in wayne, nj. got there at 7am, they open at 8am, and there were already 70 people on line. Took me over an hour to eventually go in, and the line behind me was wrapped around the block. Went to another store after that in south jersey around 2pm and they weren’t that busy
ОтветитьDoes he stock manga?
ОтветитьDoes he do mail orders?
ОтветитьI'm in Chicago suburbs and both LCS I go to had heavy traffic for FCBD yesterday, probably most since pre-Covid. Both my stores have been around for years, in fact my neighborhood shop had a recent resurgence in business, increasing hours and employees (from 1 to... 3!). I really hope the industry keeps going. I love stopping in every week to pick up my pulls, and a few extra.
ОтветитьSo sad.
ОтветитьWhen none of the Image plotters could deliver their glorified splash page/pinup books with any regularity that started the downward slide.
ОтветитьMy LCS quit selling new books 3 years ago. They said it wasn't viable anymore. Now they just sell vintage and back issue books, and they've been in business for 40 years.
ОтветитьNever heard of any of you 🤣 yeah you're a leader in the industry... I do know Joe and flying colors tho. I was there. The line ran through the entire shopping center. Thousands of people. None of them would mind if Batman was black or Superman is gay. Maybe you're just out of touch? I believe mainstream media is trying to destroy us... but not through wokeness. They are destroying us through weak writing because heroes are revolutionaries in this time. And they don't want revolution. The enemy is not the gays and the blacks my scared white friend. It is the corporate overlords who are using your fear to turn against your fellow man. Join hands. Smile on your brother everybody get together, right now.
Ответитьthat AI art on the thumbnail looked freaky, but hey, not so different from the movie lol
ОтветитьThe free comics only remind me that most of this stuff isn't worth paying for.
ОтветитьJust went to Rupp's Comics for FCBD. bought 2 books bag and boards and a bunch of FF books for $1. My freebies we got 8 Mad Cave looks promising with Gatchaman and Flash Gordon. Peanuts a reprint of pre code horror stories, Asterix, Johnny Quest. Non Marvel DC comics.
ОтветитьI accidentally showed up at a comic book store for FCBD. There was nothing good so I left. Lmao
ОтветитьMy friends and spent many many hours at our local shops... slowly they closed one by one. Glad to see some are still out there it's a slice of Americana
ОтветитьCarol and John's Comics in Cleveland had an hours-long line.
ОтветитьStop falling for this political bull** and buy comics. All this "I don't buy comics from him or her " is what will kill the hobby.
ОтветитьI'll be honest, I haven't ordered a single comic since the late 90s besides a kickstarter. Western comics are atrociously bad and all they do is change characters and do retcons. Don't fuck with em... Also make some new damn heroes/teams it's ridiculous that it's the same shit... Spider-man... X-Men... Iron Man, Hulk blah blah you get the idea. I literally just buy manga it's a much better product and besides I was always more attracted to the anime side ever since I saw Voltron as a kid in the 80s. Then in the 90s I had Sailor Moon, Project A-ko stuff and then the Toonami era with DBZ, Outlaw Star etc etc. Spidey and Xmen had amazing shows as a kid too. Also no I don't like X97, I stopped after the premiere night when ep2 ended. I knew they were going to ruin Rogue with that stupid ass alternate timeline comic. All you need now is her to get knocked up and have grandpa babies. Lmao seriously who approved that to go in the show? Western media is so damn gross and utter garbage.
ОтветитьMarvel & dc do this weird thing where they try to write “ edgy stories “ but try to make ‘em seem cool , jus cuz the characters are famous from movies and simply brush it off as “ if you don’t like our stories , then don’t read em “ well what a coincidence they predicted their own downfall .😂
Goes to show their are consequences for writing your “ characters “ in bad stories that fans simply lost interest in
Great video as always, keep up the great work
ОтветитьSuper helpful, totally worth watching
ОтветитьWow, fantastic video. Thanks a lot!
ОтветитьCool series! Keep them coming
ОтветитьThat’s fantastic, thanks for sharing
Ответитьgreat content. ty
ОтветитьStores are dying because it is not a important thing anymore. It was a big deal in the 60's thru the 90's when i was collecting. But now kids don't care and will be dead within 10 years.
ОтветитьI bought my books in walnut creek, concord, and antioch and they are closed. Im good with image and marvel that i have since my collection is from 1960 to 1998
ОтветитьI mainly read vintage comic reprints these days so as not to have to deal with the leftist bullshit. I've been on a non-EC 1950s horror comic binge lately. Oh, wow, they just didn't give a crap who was offended. 😂
