I live 20 minutes away from Dempsey birthplace! My grandpa was born in 1874 in the San Luis valley (mogote Colorado20 minutes away also !) perhaps my grandfather crossed paths with Jack at sometime.

I believe it was Mike Tyson who claimed he looked up the most to Jack Dempsey. I believe I heard him say he tried to model his style after Jack Dempsey’s fighting style.

JD was one of Mike Tyson's heros. JD and Muhammed Ali were friends up until JD's death in 83'.

Dempsey was virtually unstoppable back in the early 1920s, the greatest & most awesomely unrelenting ring machine that the human race ever yielded up (Irish & Scottish Gallowglass genes fully activated!).

There is something different about a man who grew up fighting just to eat every day. That breeds a different type of person.

I am a real Dempsey fan ever since I was about 7 and my dad told me about him, so in May 2022 I went to Southampton , cemetery Long Island and paid tribute at his grave, by the way Gary Coopers grave was just around the corner with his wife.
