Armor of Agility gives the same AC as the Armor of Persistance because of the high Dex modifier, and it gives some nice buffs, all without costing like 10000 gold

How about Vengeance Paladin? Especially if using the 5/7 split to get Vow of Enemy and Misty Step.

I’ve heard Wyll is a very fun/interesting starting character to play and have been wanting to try it, this feels like the build to play!

I think it would be really awesome for you to make a video of you doing a difficult combat encounter in different stages of the game with different parties. It would be helpful for viewers to have a full example of good combat strategy

So I’m running a locadin (7 paladin and 5 hexblade), a thunder cleric, a barbarian giant (6 barbarian 4 thief 2 fighter) and a fighter. It’s pretty powerful combo. But now I’ll do a tactician run with your setup. Looks good.

Worth forgoing the last tier of spell slots for the additional Feat on a 4/8 split?

You prefer going 7 points into warlock over paladin? I put the last 2 points into paladin to get Aura of Hate as an oathbreaker. Haven’t really tried putting the 2 extra points into warlock but am willing to try it out.

Just a tiny note that Asmodeus Tieflings are also a solid option for this build as they get Darkness at the same time a Drow or Half Drow would, along Infernal Legacy: Hellish Rebuke which I think suits this build slightly more than Drow/Half-Drow's Faerie Fire.

Also you didn't hear it from me, BUT glitched hireling infinite shadow blade and flame blade still exist even in honour mode

Make a hireling, cast the summoned weapon, dismiss them with withers, leave dialogue, re hire the same hireling and they'll have a permanent shadow/flame blade equipped and you can just take it out

I was thinking about a build along these lines but it seems like it has very few spell slots to use for smites. I've been running a crown pally 2 / bladesinger the rest (currently 10th level, in tactician) and I have smites for days, plus all the spell versatility of a wizard and even with all those smites, spell slots left over for utility, cc, misty step, whatever.

Also, love the vids in geenral - they have defo inspired several builds for me.

i wonder how this compares to paladin/sorcerer

uhm, something on the items section made me wonder if booming blade activates spellsparkler. I'm thinking this might be a fun early game option for a star druid..They could get booming blade in loads of different ways.. 1 level in hex blade, by being at least half elf, by that feat that let's you get spells from other classes and that I'll start to consider when using frats at even levels

This is the most fun looking hexblade build ive seen so I really wanna respec my minthara in my act 2 campaing, but I used hags hair on dex

So i really enjoy shadowblade/hexblade CHA builds and i'm interested in running a similar version of this build for a multiplayer honor mode party, but my team has little to no healing/support.. gloomstalker ranger/tb monk/sorlock is the current team comp. can i modify this build with a touch of lore bard, perhaps a 5/5/2 split and still be effective? or at that point would i just be better off running a different build like your light cleric reverb/radiant orb build? Love your videos and builds!!

You make amazing video guides that obviously take a ton of time. I understand it may take view time away from your videos, but if you included a build planner link as a quick reference that'd be awesome!

Whenever you have to decide between 16dex/14con and 14dex/16con with any class always go for 16dex/14con. Dexterity is just better stat overall and extra armor class + more initiative will make up for slightly lower heath.

Meanwhile, most wizard subclasses are still meh. Dragonborn and shield dwarfs remains to be two weakest races in the game. I love Larian, but they are very sketchy when it comes to balancing things. Instead of kensei monk they added... drunken master.

Great video as usual!! Now I want to give you a challenge Master builder. 4 party Honor mode with some levels of Paladin and no gear overlap! Any combinations! Of the top of my head was this build: 2Pally\10 Lock, 7 Ancients\5 Sorc, 2 Paladin\10 Bard… not sure on the forth slot. Maybe 12 levels Vengeance?

Love the build, thanks for the video! My gf hates me for destroying our coop honour run, but its just too much fun dealing 100+ damage in a single attack. I am actually running a rogue variant: 2 paladin, 4 rogue (swashbuckler) and 6 warlock just so I can roll even more dice.

If you don’t want to use shadow blade cheese what weapon besides the spear would you recommend?

This is a great build. Personally I prefer the 7 levels in paladin over hexblade. You get a few more spell slots for versatility and lower level smites for resource sustainability and with oathbreaker you get aura of hate with spiteful suffering on the big enemy. So you can stack up to 5 cha modifier to each weapon attack for 38 gauranteed damage. I think spiteful suffering is the more powerful single target use but righteous clarity does make you more accurate on everyone else. Yeah you miss out on the extra d8 for the shadow blade and losing the 5th level spells means you mis out on an extra 3d8 when you crit. However, your saves go through the roof do to your paladin aura and you deal more consistent damage overall in my book that isn't reliant on heavy resource use.

Could someone please help me with an issue I am having? I am using Darkness spell with my character and the spell reads: Create a cloud of magical darkness that Heavily Obscures and inflicts Blind to creatures within. Creatures cannot make ranged attacks into or out of it.
So why is it that any and every enemy with a bow just shoots me inside it? I checked they do NOT have ability to see in magical darkness. Also enemies from outside the darkness sphere just run straight to where my character is and attack without disadvantage on the attack roll, checked the combat log. I am unsure what to do here, I really wanted to play a darkness padlock but this is so frustrating!

hexadin is absurdly good in both 5e 2014 and bg3 but bg3 version is even more solid as the multiclass requirements are less harsher in bg3

So Dammon aggroed to and got killed by the oxes in Act II following some pickpocket shenanigans. Any recommendations for alternate chest piece? Rocking Helldusk Armour off of Rafe atm, but idk...

Can you break your oath with paladin for this build?

With any pally using a 1 handed weapon i love the shield that gives the extra level 1 spell slot. More smites are always good. Lol.
