Hilton Grand Vacation Presentation - Is it worth it?

thank you for this video. it gave me a good idea on what to expect with these presentation. I was on the same path, and purchased a hilton grand vacation package for orlando and got promised a 75k pts. When booking, I didnt expect there is a mandatory presentation before getting the points. At this point, I'm just in it for the deal plus points. haha

Hi great video... i just booked one i picked Chicago but my email said vegas. They asked for 299 with tax is 350. I said i cant afford 299 she said she can take 180 now and the 170 later within a year. So when i called to tell them i didnt pick vegas they said pay the remaining balance and then i can pick any hotel on the list in Chicago. 350 for 3nights in chicago is a good deal. But when i looked at other destinations i see Hawaii. 3nights in Hawaii will be 800 total including tax. I looked up flights and since im going in march 2024 round trip flight for 2ppl is 1000. So in my opinion 1800 bucks for 2ppl to go to Hawaii sounds good. Or maybe ill just end up going to chicago. But most likely Hawaii cuz round trip to Chicago is 800bucks.. for 200 hundred more dollars i see Hawaii. But im good at saying no. So ill sit 2hrs to save money in Hawaii. Glad i saw your video. Also ive been to vegas and stayed at mgm grand for 80dollars. Anyone going to vegas it doesnt matter what hotel you stay at cuz your just gonna be walking all day so your room will be just to sleep in. Rooms are cheap in vegas anywhere on the strip will be safe and fine. So in conclusion ill use this experience in Hawaii. 800 bucks for Hawaii is good just looked up prices and its like 300a night. So money i save ill use to go see volcanoes in Hawaii.

I just bought a 3 day stay in Vegas to come in Oct. I'm so glad to find your video. I've never been to Vegas and I get nervous and anxious around sales people. Thank you for the video. I thought the sale was a scam but I'm glad to find out that it is valid. Pray that my husband n I will stay firm and avoid the sale cause we really can't afford to vacation every year let alone every several yrs cause that's how long ago we last took a trip lol

Hey everyone! I'm currently on my Hilton Grand Vacation lol I chose the Hilton Ocean Front @ Virginia Beach. Am I the only one that called randomly to book a room at Hilton then was offered to join Hilton Honors for free but I had to listen to a sales pitch. So I agreed and the woman put me through to another woman on the phone that tried to sell me a 4 day 3 Night stay at any Hilton included in said program. That was the sales pitch she told me I had to listen to. For listening to said pitch I could get 70% off the 4 day 3 night stay. It ended up costing $299. I bought it but they NEVER told me I would be forced to sit through a 90 minute to 2 hour Pressure Pitch to buy a Hilton Time Share. I mean it too. They never told me I'd have to do 2 sales pitches. I feel like it's predatory, and underhanded as hell. Am I the only one this has happened to?

I just had a call today regarding this but 3 nights w/ boatloads of upgrades- an apartment w/ separate bathroom for example plus many, many more oh, spent $100 less 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well, It sounds that you are disrespectful because that lady is working while you and your friend sign up and agree to go to a presentation. If you look from the company prospect and policy you must answer those questions because otherwise you don't qualify for the tour since you guys choose to be rude and if you don't qualify it means you got pay full price for the stay. You don't have to buy anything when you tour, however that's the company opportunity to make their revenue. when you go just have fun and be respectful

once you do one talk you do them all i don't listen really nor do i buy into it I just want my free items.

i laughed through this whole thing, great talk on your experience! i’ve done one of these with a friend and have another one booked just for the cheap trip. my experience was the exact same is this. and their sales reps are like mosquitos out for blood money. if you have no intention on purchasing a time share package, be firm from the beginning, and prepare to be annoyed because they will keep pushing and pushing.

another important thing to add is if you don’t attend the presentation you will be fined and have to pay a $500 fee fee

First time and last time I attended this was in 2012. It was the worst scam attempt. Very stupid idea and I will never recommended to anyone.

Was this your 1st timeshare presentation? Ive been on two and on the 2nd one as soon as the 10n1 presentation started I told him I was just there for the trip and he actually used cuss words. I told him he needed to stop and I wanted to speak to his manager. Within 5-10 minutes I got the trip. My wife did not like it so I have not done it again. If I could go on my own I would do it over and over just to piss them off. I dont get rattled by their demeaning attitude. Instead I would prob laugh and make them more angry

What you quoted is not the 'mid-level', and if you can't afford to travel now you won't be able to afford to travel via HGV. It's certainly not perfect, but this video makes you sound bitter.

I asked the rep does SHE have the HGV. 😂 She also kept impying that it must be money that was the issue. so i had to inform her were diamond members. We have money and the way you keep money is by not buying into scams. Im not paying $100,000 for just hotels. She tried to imply a trip to Europe would be $10,000 .... I informed her it's $6000 all inclusive (flights, hotels, meals, tours, activities) and i didn't have to pay $100,000 for ... points. It's a scam

Unfortunately me and my wife signed up and stayed in Hawaii for 8 days the 8 days pretty much payed for our timeshare minus the property taxes every year but that's a write off on our taxes it kind of makes sense if you travel and knowing me and my wife we don't travel so it forces us to travel

Just went to mine yesterday - they ask you a ton of easy questions that are easy to say “yes” to…they try to get you into the “yes” mode. I did not flinch, I went from having a new best friend to basically being the dumbest guy to walk the planet - after all, who could pass up a one in a million opportunity- well I did. They actually told me “they feel sorry for my family”. Get ready for a real mind f$ck. We had 3 nights 4 days and got a $200 voucher…was it worth it? My kids loved it - so hell yes it was…that made it totally worth the ego beat down…

Hilton Grand Vacation points equate to $10/point. If you do the math it’s comparable to spending $30 for a 12 oz mug of tap water. Hilton…if you’re listening, THIS SHOULD BE CRIMINAL. SHAME ON YOU!

TOP TIP for dealing with High Pressure Timeshare Sales Presentation:
I brought along a full sized bag of extra crunch potato chips. Every time the presenter got to a dramatic sales pitch part, I started rolling my bag of chips. It was loud.
Then I would stand up and say "My bad." and sit down, because I am English and that's the polite thing to do.
That lasted about 10 minutes then they asked me to step outside.
As I went outside, I passed by the table with the giveaways and I took my two champagne bottles and two envelopes filled with COCO BONGO tickets with me.


That's called WIN - WIN!

I actually OWN one of these and bought a much less amount of points than you're speaking of for much less money and it does not only last for 5 years... it is for a lifetime. I've had it since 2008 and absolutely LOVE it!! It is not a room, it is a condo style vacation experience (full size living room, kitchen washer/dryer and 1,2 or 3 bdrms... I've stayed at the Elara (not Aria) many many times and have never seen a section " Only Owners" at the pool area. Maybe something added within the last year.. IDK... Making sure that people know that MY experience has been a positive one. It's also something that I can leave to my children, and the dues are only $1,000 a year.. has been worth it and great accommodations for the past 16 years.

It's the Elara (E-LAR-A). There's 4 Las Vegas locations. It's not a vacation rental, it's vacation ownership.
Not endorsing it, just pointing out discrepancies. We're owners. Don't buy during these presentations for $20k+. If you want to buy, buy resale for almost nothing. Also, if you can't pay for it, do not borrow money at 10%+. That means you can't afford it.

Im going to d c in February 2025 im already 30 minutes from where i want to be inwas considering it but tou said the hilton honors and the grand vacation poonts are separate nah ill stick to buolding ul my status with the hotels at least i cold get actually free things there

I’m a pre-sales engineer so I know sales rep shenanigans. 45 mins into our “presentation” I pressured the sales rep to disclose the $$s and she spilled the tea, at which point she realized she f**ed up. After that they got a barrage of questions that they simply weren’t able to answer on the spot so I said I can’t make any decisions on the spot 🤷🏽‍♂️. We were done right on time. 😅

Scam. They push so hard for something that should sell itself. Lots of videos out there to stay away. You will also need a lawyer to get your money back if you ever want out.

I paid over $80K for some silver level membership. Then I Started getting maintenance fees of $6K a year. That was the the end. A complete ripoff by this company. I stopped paying the maintenance fee and have stopped using this time share. THIS IS A COMPLETE RIPOFF. Selling it is almost impossible.

My wife and I attended one, but did not buy. They are asking you to go in debt for $30,000 dollars up front. Not including the $1,500 dollars for annual maintenance fees. I wished I would have watched this video before attending, but work out good for both of us.
